Football is a wonderful world of different opinions, we agree, we disagree, and life goes on. So here?s one to throw around ? WHAT CRITERIA DETERMINES THE MANAGER OF THE SEASON? There can many valid viewpoints on this, so I thought I would get the ball rolling with mine. A major factor to me should be the question ?how did expectations at the start of the season measure up to the position at the end?? With that in mind let?s look at the contenders. Birmingham, Sunderland and West Brom were surely favorites to go back up, although the latter two changed managers mid season and both deserve credit, particularly Roy Keane. Steve Bruce did what was expected of, and credit to him for that after a shaky start, but not a contender in my book. Derby, so close to relegation last term, where not expected to go down after Billy?s appointment, but a mid?table finish was the best they could hope for, so to finish 3rd, 8 points ahead of 4th place and so close to automatic promotion must put him in contention. Tony Pulis deserves a mention. But the winner in my mind has to be Gerraint Williams at Colchester (ex-Derby stalwart please note), what he has done at that club has been nothing short of incredible. Even on the last day of the season, a play off place was still possible. So in my opinion, THE AWARD GOES TO???..GEORGIE!!! So then?. Over to you.. what do you think. On the other side of the coin, what about Dennis Wise?
Either Bruce or Keane both did extremly well 2 get there teams staight back up after relegation very hard thing to do.
It has to be Keane, how many people can say they've taken a team that was looking like they'll be in the third tier to winning the division and ending up first on the final day of the season with every reason to be confident about staying up next year. They'll do better than they did last time they were in the top flight.

Ian Holloway without a doubt, first season in championship and did extremely well to keep out of the relegation zone
