I was reading this article on Skysports about Barca thinking of giving Eto'o, plus 17 Mil for Henry. Any of you guys think theres any truth to this???....personally as an Arsenal Fan, I would love to take Eto'o and the Money , but then again we would show no loyalty towards our best player that showed "us" loyalty this season by staying at the club . I think its untrue, because Eto's is younger than Henry, both players had injuries this past season, plus splashing 17 Mil as an extra, seems unreal...but if true, then they are truly obssesed with him, not that Im saying Henry doesnt have anymore fire power left on his cannon, but Barca is only going to have 3 or 4 more years of his services, while eto's could have alsmost twice that. The negative thing about Eto's is that he doesnt know when to shut up, attitude problems are not good for a team. What do u guys think?
I think Arsenal will definitely benefit Eto'o rather than Barca getting Henry. Henry is 30 and he is getting the end of his peak while Eto'o is 24-25 and he is banging in the goals for fun.
I would like to see Eto'o come to the Prem but not for a switch with Henry, although Arsenal would benefit more if they take up the deal Henry is a loyal and quality player and IMO I dont want to see him leave.
HENRY is arsneals heart and soul he cannot leave no matter how good Eto'o is Henry is alot better than Eto'o
Barcelona would never swap £17m PLUS a £30m player for an ageing, coming back from a long-term injury that can still come back at any time. If Arsenal threw in some money with Henry, yes, but Barcelona aren't THAT desperate to capture Henry.
Even if Barcelona really would want to do that, I don't believe Arsenal would accept it. Henry is irreplaceable for them, if it weren't for players like Fabregas and Gilberto, Arsenal would have failed miserably towards the end of the season.
<div class="quote_poster">Big Aaron Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Also, this rumour came from The Daily Star. Hardly the most reputable of sources, by a long shot.</div> lol thats why i'm not taking it seriously. If it is true i say we leave it to Henry to decide. If he goes good, we get 17mill and a very talented striker. He he stays Better, He's been the best player in the world in his prime and is surely unbeatable and irreplaceble IMO
<div class="quote_poster">chopper Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">HENRY is arsneals heart and soul he cannot leave no matter how good Eto'o is Henry is alot better than Eto'o</div> I have no question about that, but what worries me is Arsenal in 4 more years, Henry is not forever and he will eventually hang up his boots in 4 more years. I would like to see us aquire a proven talent in the prem, then I could rest asure that we will have a solid striker after Henry's gone. But I do share the fact that Henry on his best day would spank Eto's best perfomances any day of the week. Anyways its probably no truth to this, especially with the money as an extra. I would like Henry to retire a Gunner.
It is a lose, lose situation. Barca would be stupid to buy a 30 yo, injury prone striker for there lighting quickmid 20s striker who is scoring goals rapidly. On the other hand, Arsenal without Henry must be scary for wenger.
Eto is worth 20-25 mil. So.. Henry is worth 37-42 mil? no way! he WAS one of the premiership greats, but because of injury problems and age isn't on his side anymore so it wont happen.
I dont think Henry is worth 37-42 Mil, but Eto for Henry sounds fair....look at it this way, 1.)Both are coming from injuries 2.)Age is definetly a factor, but while healthy Henry still managed to score 12 goals in 24 games played this past season. 3.)Barca would benefit from his expirience 4.)Henry is a better finisher than eto'o. On the other hand Eto's is young and going on his peak but....Eto'o had a long serious injury that took a while to heal. yes he is young, but will he get injured again soon??...so obviously thats a factor in his price too, being young does not guarantee he will be healthy, for example Cisse (Liverpool) hes just an injury prone player after that knee surgery he had. I hope doesnt go afterall.
But think abt it Gunner fans, do u really think Henry will be back to his best at the age of 30 and coming back from an groin and stomach injury? Although Eto'o was injured early in the season now he is still banging in the goals and he is still very young and has lighting speed. I can onli see that Arsenal will challenge for the title if they get Eto'o for Henry and get some experienced players

Im just hoping he can have a healthy season and well rested and someone else to share the pressure up-front, cause lately arsenal has only relied on Henry, every player needs to step up to win games.

On his day he is the best striker in the world and no one can compete with him IMO.
Max, the injury he's has is a Sciatic Nerve problem. That kind of injury is only ever managed, never cured, especially in sportsman.
