The Mersey does run through Manchester, in fact Stockport County is the closest football ground to the Mersey.

Can someone explain why no United fans have commented on this? I wonder how embarrassed they are? Next time i'm at Anfield i'm gonna start singing their one and only song "Stand up if you hate scousers"
So far there has been 43 reviews of it but only 8 posts so i'm guessing that wth the amount of people that use site some of the viewers are United fans or as we now know Liverpool fans.

I went to wikipedia and typed " You'll never walk Alone" and it came up most people think it was made for Liverpool and stolen by Celtic but it was made for Celtic and stolen by Liverpool so get it right.

Well how come Celtic fans sang it in the late 50's while Gerry and The Pacemakers made a version of it in 1964 -65, Then Liverpool fans started singing it so you tell me how the hell we stole it from THEM! ?

I don't think i've ever heard as much shit in my life. Why is it Liverpool fans are famous for singing YNWA and not Celtic then? You only really started singing it properly after the 1989 Hillsborough match ( of which we are entirely grateful) but it was us who made the song famous on the terraces. As for Fields of Anfield road that is copied from a famous Irish song NOT a Celtic song ,i'm sure ther are 1 or 2 other Irish teams sing that , we have actually changed the words of a famous song NOT a Celtic song.

    MANCHESTER UNITED SANG IT FIRST!!!

A few months ago on Sky Sports a man was on who was writing a book about the roots of football songs and Man Utd fans were the 1st to sing it. The started singing it just after the Munich plane crash.

Stangley, West Ham's I'm forever blowing bubbles was because of a player who had curly hair.

They never talked about any others.

But for all you Liverpool fans or neutrals for that matter who said "pathetic," you need to redirect that comment at Liverpool fans.

Newcastle fans have sung this once or twice aswell. The last match before the Kop was made into an all-seated area, Newcastle fans sang it with Liverpool. A few years ago in the Uefa cup, we sang it away to Herenveen. Some european team this season from Belgium sang it aswell.

It's nobodys song. Its a passionate song. It's quite mediocre and origional.

We know lots of fans have sung it BUT its the Liverpool fans and the Anfield Kop which are the most famous in the world.I'll completely ignore your title about United singing it 1st for the stupidity it is. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.
Yor last sentence couldn't be more contradictory if it tried. Its nobodys but original, its passionate but mediocre, how on earth does that happen.
Newcatle fans are famed for their loyalty(much of it by themselves i might add) but what song can you say is identified with Newcastle? The Newcastle crowd seem to sing about themselves and not the team and it makes them sound stupid, Oh eye bonnie lad we sang a crackin song to oorselves today' so ame gaan hoom to i a wank.
