myself being an aussie and living in australia, i am a big supporter of the A-league...especially Queensland roar. do you think the A-league will ever become a big league world wide?
no. football isnt popular enough in australia. as long as boguns exist, only 'league, shazza' will stay the most popular code in australia.
No, it won't. Look at the MLS, the J- and K-Leagues, they're all established leagues but they're not very big on a world scale. Obviously they get a bit of attention but they'll never compare to the European leagues. I guess we're a bit more likely to get attention as we've had players in the European leagues for years now but there are not as many Americans and there's getting to be more Japanese and Korean players in the EPL mainly. I go for Melbourne Victory and I was at the Grand Final when we won 6-0 .
true, but we did get 45 000 at the melbourne sydney game. i agree the league will never be great but lets hope more people turn up to the matches. who do you support?
i support the roar...wasn't it great when we beat you in the last couple of games. dario vidosic scored in the last few minutes. no he is playing for nerumberg FC. great buy from them
Melbourne Victory, I've been a member for the first two seasons but I'm not sure about the third, the prices are really high. We got 50,033 at the Melbourne vs Sydney game and then we got about 55,000 at the Grand Final. Victory are exceeding expectations but at one stage when Perth was playing poorly they only got 4,000, so it's good to be doing well but we can't let everyone walk away when the club is doing poorly.
it wont be as big but i reckon it will get bigger.. just gotta give people time to get used to the sport now that we've got more support..
It wont be as big as the Premier League but it will get bigger than it is know(if that makes sense). Due to the aussies playing in the world cup (and if the win or at least be sucessful at the Asian Cup) the game should get bigger here.
One thing that hasn't helped the A-League/FFA is that everything except Euro and the World Cup is now on Fox Sports and there's not as many people with Foxtel so the A-League and the Asian Cup won't get as many viewers as it would on SBS or other free-to-air stations.
A-leagues ok i watch it if it's on normally on Soccer AM lol. i've also watched it on Eurosport a couple of times and i can say is Meh ok i guess.
I go for Perth Glory always will we have got a fairly young team but i reckon in a few years u will see them in the asia cup
