Green Bay Packers = America's Team (despite what Dallas fans say)

Those are both very good teams but if you want to root for a winner then look no further than the New England Patriots.

If there are one or two players you really like, follow their team. Maybe read up on the history of some teams. Maybe you'll find someone to root for there. There wasn't any team that you grew up watching?

The only real choice is Pittsburgh though. I can't believe you guys are even trying to recruit him to Tampa, Green Bay, the Jets. There are probably more Steeler Bars in Ireland than all three of those teams bars in all of Great Britian....

Welcome to the forums kick... and good luck deciding what team to root for! [IMG]

Welcome to the forums KICK, I will not try and bribe you to be a BEARS fan. I don't want the guilt riding over my head all year. Good luck in whomever you choose and enjoy the football seasons to come![IMG]

kick, do you really want to be a Jets fan? I'm sure they would love to have you as it would cause their literacy rate to skyrocket, but I can't think of a worse fate for a football fan, other than being a Cardinals fan. Besides, chicks dig men in aqua and orange!

Ok, lets look at this....I think the 1st step in the process is to find a college football team to root for, and the obvious team for an Irishman to back would be Notre Dame, after all, they are the Fightin' Irish, so with that, we have decided that Notre Dame is your collge team, picking a pro team is a matter of deciding which Notre Dame player is your favorite....unfortunatly there are 47 Notre Dame alums on NFL rosters, so its not gonna be easy, but Im gonna include a list of players to pick from and when you find your player, then you have your teams:

Akers, Jeremy () St. Louis Rams T
Battle, Arnaz (83) San Francisco 49ers WR
Berry, Bert (92) Denver Broncos DE
Bettis, Jerome (36) Pittsburgh Steelers RB
Beuerlein, Steve (11) Denver Broncos QB
Black, Jordan (65) Kansas City Chiefs G
Boiman, Rocky (50) Tennessee Titans LB
Brown, Tim (81) Oakland Raiders WR
Burris, Jeff (21) Cincinnati Bengals CB
Carney, John (3) New Orleans Saints K
Cooper, Deke (35) Jacksonville Jaguars FS
Curtis, Brennan (69) Green Bay Packers T
Edwards, Marc (44) Jacksonville Jaguars FB
Faine, Jeff (50) Cleveland Browns C
Fisher, Tony (40) Green Bay Packers RB
Flanigan, Jim (10) Philadelphia Eagles DT
Gandy, Mike (69) Chicago Bears T
Gibson, Oliver (99) Cincinnati Bengals DT
Givens, David (87) New England Patriots WR
Goodspeed, Joey (44) St. Louis Rams FB
Grasmanis, Paul (96) Philadelphia Eagles DT
Harper, Deveron (28) New Orleans Saints CB
Harrison, Tyreo (55) Philadelphia Eagles LB
Hentrich, Craig (15) Tennessee Titans P
Holloway, Jabari (89) Houston Texans TE
Hunter, Javin (84) Baltimore Ravens WR
Irons, Grant (96) Oakland Raiders DE
Jackson, Jarious (17) Denver Broncos QB
Legree, Lance (70) New York Giants DT
Lopienski, Tom (36) Indianapolis Colts RB
Mahan, Sean (78) Tampa Bay Buccaneers G
Mirer, Rick (3) Oakland Raiders QB
Owens, John (83) Detroit Lions TE
Petitgout, Luke (77) New York Giants T
Rosenthal, Mike (75) Minnesota Vikings T
Rossum, Allen (20) Atlanta Falcons CB
Ruddy, Tim (61) Miami Dolphins C
Sapp, Gerome (27) Baltimore Ravens DB
Smith, Hunter (17) Indianapolis Colts P
Taylor, Bobby (21) Philadelphia Eagles CB
Vollers, Kurt (78) Dallas Cowboys T
Walton, Shane (38) St. Louis Rams CB
Weaver, Tony (98) Baltimore Ravens DE
Williams, Brock (22) Chicago Bears CB
Wooden, Shawn (22) Miami Dolphins DB
Wynn, Renaldo (97) Washington Redskins DE
Young, Bryant (97) San Francisco 49ers DT

Alright, there you have them, my suggestion would be Tim Ruddy or Shawn Woodem, but you find the player and team for you....

By that thought, perhaps he should be a Vikings fan, since Vikings once invaded most of Ireland and England

Vikings were way before the pirates. They didnt
get to have the pleasures of a jolly roger pirate
ship with cannons. They have oversized canoes
    with alot of orrs lol

Kick, a raider fan eh, well remember the raiders
lost to the buccaneers in 2002 superbowl. But
the raiders are a great choice. Raiders and dolphins
have the most wins of all nfl teams.
