It is understood talks are underway and a deal could be completed as soon as the weekend.

West Ham have said they want to keep him after he helped them survive in the Premier League last season but doubts have remained over his Hammers future.</div>

The rumoured price tag is 20 mil.

To be honest i dont think Man U need a striker of this calaber. Theyve already got Rooney and Saha with Smith as a back up (well if Smith stays) and they're quality strikers. But still it'll be a good move for United.

I wasn't really expecting this, Tevez to Man Utd. Do they really need him? Obviously not since they just won the Premiership. But he's proven how good a player he is and he's obviously just going to get even better if he moves to Man Utd. Everyone knows it'd be a good signing, even if we can't see who they're going to leave out of the line up.

Rooney. Tevez and Anderson are pretty similar players, seems a little pointless. Some of the worlds best young talent though so why not [IMG]

I think Ferguson see's the Torres move to Liverpool a threat to his title, so he is moving in on a big name striker himself.

Torres going to win you the title? Dont make me laugh, we have always wanted a new striker since last season as we had few players up front.
Now it looks like we will get Tevez and he is an excellent player with a lot of abilities.
Brilliant signing. Its not a signing out of desperation to rival liverpool with king torres.

I read that because he's owned by a third party and there's all the nonsense surrounding him that the Premier League is saying Man Utd need to pay West Ham 20mil or else they won't allow it. It's going to be nearly as controversial as his move to the Hammers if all this about a loan and everything is true.

That was funny....Torres wont beat any prem team single-handedly, period.

Speaking of the subject, It doesn make any sense in signing Tevez, they already have a really good starting line-up. Unless they want to erradicate any threat of him going to Chelsea,Arsenal,Liv.

Possibly, I think it may more be because their current strikeforce of Rooney, the injury-prone Saha, Smith and Solskjaer isn't exactly world-beating. The signing of Anderson has helped to reinforce this attack but he plays more in the hole behind strikers rather than an actual striker.

I didn't say he will win it on his own, he will get help from the best midfield in England, all we have been missing the past few years is a good striker. now we got one.

I agree with you in that the signing would definetly not be shit but saying saha is shit is wrong. he is fantastic when facing the goalsand just the later end of the season he got a terrible run of luck give him a break.

the Tevez signing is a complete F**K up. Tevez wants to leave, his agents suggests he should leave and man united are prepared to off s great sum of money for when and on the other side...the chairman of west ham belives he will be playing for west ham next season. the FA is making it to complicated.

People are saying that Rooney and Tevez are simlar players.. so whats the point in having 2 of them?

well i thaught York & Cole were simlar & the partnership worked, Tevez & Rooney up front, there link up play will be amazing. I think it is a great signing.
