<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">West Ham have completed the signing of Arsenal midfielder Freddie Ljungberg, BBC Sport understands.

The Hammers will unveil the 30-year-old Sweden international at a press conference at 1400 BST.

Ljungberg, who was also a target for Fiorentina, joined the Gunners in a ?3m deal from Halmstads in 1998 and scored 72 goals in 325 games for the club.

He had two years left on his contract at the Emirates Stadium but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger decided to sell him.

Ljungberg, who was Arsenal's longest serving player, struggled with injury last season and played just 26 games.

lol. A good buy by the Hammers. Arsenal have lost 2 of their most experienced players.

    Your Thoughts?

He's a quality player even at this age. Good signing for West Ham and he should do well for the Hammers.

I don't think he's been playing terribly well for Arsenal, think they'll take what they can get for him

A quote from the witty one on Five Live. "Freddie Ljunberg has said that Arsenal have not fulfilled their guarantee of being one of the top sides in England and Europe. This is obviously why he has signed for West Ham" [IMG]

It was a good signing for West Ham and an excellent decision by an ageing Ljungberg who was one of the best attacking mids in the game. He will do well.

Thats a pretty dumb statement from Ljunberg, cause West Ham is never going to emulate Arsenals success in the prem next season, even without Henry. He went to a club who cheated their way out of relegation.

This summers transfer market is megger inflated but 3 mil for a quality experiance player such as Ljungberg could be the bargin of the summer if he keeps injury free. I feel Ljungberg needed a fresh challange and Wes Ham could provide that. With players like Fabeurt, Ljungberg, Parker, Ashton, Bellemy they could push for a Ufea cup place.

Portsmouth last year IMO got a bit lucky & was one of the suprise packages of the season.

Tottenham - i agree ufea cup/possibal champions leauge contenders.

but there are 1 or 2 other teams that can get the ufea cup place. Everton - i dont think they will. City - mid table.. maybe next year they can push for a ufea cup place. This season they are building a team, and it needs time to gell. Plus city dont have good players in the right areas - centreback, another striker, attacking midfeilder. So i feel West ham have a good chance.
