West Ham have bid a club-record ?12m for Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka. (Daily Mail, Independent) Your thaughts?
He's not the best but on his day he's a brilliant player. I don't think Bolton want to sell him and I don't think they should, even if it is for 12mil which can be a lot of money even now when players are costing more and more every year. He'd be a good pick up for the Hammers especially if Tevez leaves.
Can't see him ging there, Why do players want to go to West Ham, Bellamy wasn't having a good time at Liverpool so fair enough but Scott Parker was captain of a big club and he moved to Relegation battlers West Ham??? Some players need their heads Checking.
I would'nt say westham are religation battlers, last year when they got Mascarano & Tevez they were seen as champions league contentders/ufea cup contenders. This year i really dont think they will be religation battlers. But i think wesham need to improve on certian areas such as: left back.. they've sold konchesky to Fulham and dont have a replacment, Center mid.. they have to holding midfeilders in Parker and Mullins. They have a good chance of doing well this season.
Probably not the best move by the Hammers. They need to improve their defence and midfield before worrying about another forward. Still this wont make them european contenders.
How can you say they need to improve their defence, they have the mighty Lucas Neill and he's now their captain! They signed Ljungberg, Parker and Bellamy so they don't need to worry as much about midfield and they probably just need to buy one respected and talented defender and then they'll be fine. EDIT: And don't forget that Tevez is still a West Ham player so if he doesn't move they still have a hugely talented player and we all know what he can do.
Actually they probably dont need to improve their defence either because they have the great Anton Ferdinand at CB. Tevez will leave because MSI (or watever theyre called) want him to leave because theyll get more money out of him goin to utd than him staying at the hammers. The tevez deal, is it a 2 year loan like it was originally planned or are utd buying him. BTW the first post about Anelka is a rumour on BBC's rumour mill so its probably not believable/not going to happen.
IMO his best days are behind him, when he left Arsenal it went down hill from there although he has revived his career at Bolton. And there has bin talk of Arsenal signing him, and Wenger hasn't ruled it out, i find it funny that Henry was braught in to replace Anelka, now Anelka could replace Henry, Although i think its speculation. If he goes anywere it will be spain.
