Do you think that it is fine for foreign people to own English clubs. There are nine clubs owned by foreigners in the EPL and it has had huge effects, primarily Roman Abramovich effect on Chelsea. It seems like a growing trend with most recently Thaksin Shinawatra taking over Man City. The question must be raised if these people have the right mind about the premier league and are they going to stear it in the right direction? Are wealthy foreign owners good or bad for the premier league?

You could go both ways, I'm happy that Middlesbrough is owned by an Englishman because it's shown that he wants to keep it this way in how he has invested into the Academy and had such talented players come through, so this makes me lean towards the fact that it's bad for the league. And you can see that it's bad when such a popular team like Man Utd, many fans turned their backs on the club when the Glazer's took over.

I don't know to be honest. Arsenal seem to lean strongly away from this American. So. I dunno.

If they have the money and the long-term commitment to the club. Why not?

But are they just using these clubs as "Millionaires play toys"? will they get bored after a while and then move on to something different to occupy their time with?

If they are using the money for the goods things of football, like for buying more quality players or getting better stadiums or improving your youth academy, I don't see such a big problem. After all, it's just business

I suppose it's good. But sometimes it can be bad like with Glazer, he's never seen a Manchester United match, he refers to the club as a franchise and he's completely Americanized the club. Look at the kit:
    Racing Stripe
    No 'FC' on the badge
A little badge on the bottom right hand side (when you look at it) saying 'The Red Devils'
    Sponsor is American Insurance Group

Who says he hasn't? He definitely has been to Manu matches along with his sons. And, our kit has no stripes at all. And our sponsor is the most expensive one in the world of football. So thats shows he has interest. Everything doesn't have to be English you know.

Depends really, If say an Englishman or a foreign man were proposing to buy the club and inject the same amount of cash i'd rather the Englishman but if a foreign person were to introduce a ridiculous amount into the club like Roman'Buy the League' Abromavich then it would be hard to turn down

if the buyer has a clue about wot he's buyin' and doesn't use the club as a means to an end ie. his financial success, then i don't see a problem. there shud be a limit on the no. of foreign owners (and players) just so the game here doesn't completely become a multi-millionaire's playground but people like the dude at aston villa and the liverpool owners actually want a piece of the action and there's nothing wrong with that.
