<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">BORO have agreed a fee with Spurs for Egyptian striker Mido and hope to complete a deal within the next 36 hours.

The 24-year-old is currently undergoing a medical at Boro's Rockliffe Park training headquarters and manager Gareth Southgate is hopeful that a deal will be completed soon.

"We've agreed a fee with Tottenham and that's enabled us to have Mido up to see us and he's currently in the process of having his medical.

"Hopefully if everything goes well we'll have some news in the next 36 hours.

"All the talks have been very positive and I don't see the medical being too much of a problem for him."

Mido, who requires a work permit, did not take part in Spurs' Far East tour as his future with the club was in doubt and Southgate said he will need time to build up match fitness.</div>

Good signing for us and hopefully he'll be able to fit in and play well. He's the third forward we've signed this season after losing two others and a right winger. In the first game against Blackburn, Tuncay played on the right and the only place that was suffering for us was our defence as we had our best four out (Pogatetz, Woodgate, Huth and Young), so it'll be tough for him to break into the squad with players like Dong-Gook Lee and Lee Cattermole on the bench too, especially when he's not at match fitness yet.

    Thoughts?

Enough for top 10 I'd say. Nothing spectacular.
