Strong arms dont always earn ya jack in the nfl its eithier you have it or you dont. I cant say that carson palmer doesnt have potential cause he, no doubt about it does. To say kitna is pretty much climaxed out is kinda off beef, how would you know what kitna has left? Seriously the man could go out next season if something happend to palmer and throw for over 30 tds less with ints and a better qb rating for 2004. As for qbs taken in the nfl draft, usually when they come out of college its early before they graduate. Its very rare to see a senior qb taken in the first rd so, A. palmer is smart and stayed in school. B. the talent at the qb postion in 2003 was a drop off and he was the best avalible at his postion. C. all of the above, which i beleive. Carson palmer did not post amazing numbers in college until his jr and senior years, which any qb stats could look amazing by there senior year. I think carson is work in progress and its about winning now, if kitna leads them to being contenders why change it. no one knows this could really set them back or help them guess we will see. If im kitna i would asked to be moved to someone who could use him in my opinon.
I just looked at kitna's #'s for last year, and they are pretty darn impressive. 62% comp 26td 15 int, 3600 yds, it will be tough for palmer to do better so early in his career, however, that season was an aberration compared to the rest of kitna's career
Hey Steelerfan. Wasn't Leaf the #2 overall pick, behind one Peyton Manning? Was Heath Shuler #1 overall? I don't remember.
Bucs40etrain --- The 2003 quarterback draft was weak? I ll go on the record as saying that Byron Leftwitch is the best quarterback to come out of the NFL draft since Peyton Manning. As far as you calling the 2003 QBS class weak, how can you say that when Palmer, Boller and Grossman have barely played? And if the 2003 nfl draft was a eak one for QBS, how else do you explain Carson Palmer go first over all and Byron Leftwitch 7th overall. And you call this QB class weak?
