<font color="#0000ff">The Mavericks have elected not to exercise their option on Pops Mensah-Bonsu, meaning the 6-9 forward will become a free agent Saturday. The team had until today to guarantee Mensah-Bonsu's contract for the upcoming season."</font> </p>

I'm really pulling for the Nets to sign him, but I'm also convinced that that's not happening.

If the Mavs didn't sign him, after the two/three years we invested in him, I'm guessing he doesn't have as good of a shot in the league as we thought.

He can rebound too. Well, just as long as he makes it into 2k8 I'll be happy

He's gonna suck if he's not signed. He won't be good regardless.

If he does get signed, he will only garbage minutes for the most of the season.

<h2>Mensah-Bonsu signs in Italy, Pinnock drafted again</h2> <h6><span>by</span> Andrew Alberg
Sports Editor</h6> Former GW standout Pops Mensah-Bonsu signed with Benotton Treviso of the Italian Serie A league after being released by the National Basketball Association's Dallas Mavericks. Mensah-Bonsu impressed various observers during the NBA's summer league, but the talent-filled Mavericks did not have space on their roster for the 6-foot-9 forward.

Mensah-Bonsu's former teammate Danilo (J.R.) Pinnock was selected number one overall in the NBA Developmental League's Expansion Draft by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Pinnock played with the NBDL's Arkansas RimRockers last season and was on Washington Wizards' summer league team but was not invited to training camp.

Pinnock was drafted by the Mavericks with the 58th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft before being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers later that night. Pinnock never signed a contract with the Lakers and played in Germany for part of the 2006-2007 season.

1 year in a european squad could be a good idea. I just hope he can get back to the nba and get some good minutes I know he's a great baller. Why isn't he playing for UK team?
