KCGSC, the Dolphins lost Todd Wade to the Texans, so we brought in John Tait for a visit. I read that the Dolphins won't have to give compensation if they make an offer and the Chiefs refuse to match. What are your feelings about this?

I read that we would get a 5th rounder out of it. I kind of expect the Chiefs to match any offers. Tait is the weakest link in our o-line though and we drafted 2 youngsters last year so who knows. I mean the guy can play - don't get me wrong; but he's no Will Shields, Willie Roaf, or Casey Wegmann. I think the Chiefs should explore trading Tait for one of the defensive castaways the Dolpins have been publicizing. Madison would be a welcome addition! Tait is still scheduled to visit the Bears, who are rumored to covet him highly.

Yes KC, he should be visiting us today and we have some money to spend. He would definatly be a nice addition to our O-line. We could have offered you HOLDMAN but we cut him so.[IMG]

It looks like the TAIT transaction will happen as I told you buddy, as we signed him to an offer sheet that I don't think that you guy's will match. A 6 year 34 million and a 14 million dollar signing bonus. He was said to be emotional about playing for the BEARS and that SHEA played a big part in him wanting to come here , so I guess I should say double thanks![IMG]

It is finally official, TAIT will be in a BEARS uniform this year as the CHIEFS failed to match our offer. I am glad to get someone in with good experience and he will stay at RT for us to protect REX from being blindsided. I hope he works out well for us and am glad that we ended up with him. This also free's up some money for you to try and sway VINCENT in. Good luck but I have the feeling he is looking for a large sum. GO BEARS!!!!!![IMG]

Congrats on signing a good O-lineman 4th. Hope he has many successes as a Bear. I like Tait, but I do think you guys overpaid a little to keep us from matching. Hope he can keep Rex vertical for you guys.
