    Check this out

    http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/sports/football/8110585.htm

Basically it states that the Eagles had a deal with Owens, and that the 49ers traded him to the Ravens out of Spite without even informing the eagles ahead of time. Thats not right, they screwed him out of free-agency, and now they wouldn't even let him go to the team he wanted to play for. To me this shows that they are now where near the organization they once were, a very classless move if you ask me. The radio stations in Philly are stating that there's a chance that Owens will take this to court. I just dont see him being happy in Baltimore, if he thought that Garcia was not a good QB, I feel bad for Boller. This could get very interesting in the next few days and weeks.

I'm sure the Eagles will file a grievance with the league.

I know its not a move with class but can't they trade him to whoever they want? Its really not the players decision.

No one screwed TO except TO....he didnt file his papers on time so he is NOT a free agant, he was property of the San Francisco 49ers, and they choose to trade him to the Ravens....they are well within thier rights, they do not have to ask him before they make a move....I hope he does take it to court becuase he will lose....what a cry baby, if I were in charge of a team, I wouldnt take TO at the veteran minimum, hes a complete waste of human organs...

Acctually, if you watched his Interview on ESPN yesterday, everything made sense. According to TO, his agent wanted to file the papers after the deadline to set franchise tag, so that 49ers could not franchise him. The NFL faxed the agent a letter about the change of date, but according to him he never got it, and they also never faxed it to Terrell. So, they never knew that the date was changed from March 3rd to Feb 21st. It kind of makes sense the way he explained it. Also, the 49ers told Owens to go make a deal with a team within 72 hours, and then they would trade him. He made a deal with the Eagles, and then the 49ers sent him to the Ravens. I acctually think he has a good case. If he never knew about the change of Date, he should be a free-agent then. This is all getting very interesting.

TO's agent is to blame. He did not file the paperwork on time & negotiated directly w/ Philly and left Terry Donahoe out of the loop. Most agents negotiate w/ the soon to be former team & the desired team.

All Philly was offering was Thrash and a 5th rounder which is an insult. I think 49ers brass came out ahead. I agree w/ Beef & BF1 that the Ravens are the true losers because TO is an incredibly selfish jackass

Blackadder you are missing one key ingredient in this whole equation. He did NOT know that the papers were due on the 21st. He filed them on the 24th, so that the 49ers could not franchise TO, the agent though that the deadline was March 2nd. I love that NFLPA stated that they have faxed it to him, and they recieved conformation. I have faxed sooo much shit, and gotten conformation, without the party acctually recieving the documents. And also, why did they not fax this info to TO, he as a player has a right to know.

He may be selfish, but he does have the right to be a free-agent. The 49ers knew he was going to be a free agent, everyone did. Now he gets screwed because the NFL changed the dates. And he has to play for a team he does not want to. How would you feel?? If he accepts this, he will never in his life have a chance to be in this situation again, I kind of feel for the guy.

In the NFL players union is the weakest of all major sports, and I usually stick with the owners. But in this case, I think the player is getting screwed, and something need to be done.

i have a feeling your opinion is skewed by the fact you want TO in greeb next season. I think it is hilarious that all the niners got was the 51st pick when mccariens got the 41st pick in the draft. Owens not as valuable as Justin Mccariens. lets face it he is a Dumass who drops the ball all the time. He cost garcia his job and if he does not get the ball constantly in the eagles next NFC title game loss he will bitch a storm up and blame the loss on Mcnabbs ability to get him the ball. In baltimorehe will be very unhappy because it is a running team and he wont get the ball thrown his way enough.

i agree only Garcia cost Garia's job, he wouldnt take a cut
HE ONLY PLAYED IN 13 games. And Rattay made him look like a has been so I THINK RATTAY cost Garcia's job also. PLus Tai Street is a predicted sleeper every year and doesnt show up to play. I honestly hate that TO thinks he is above the NFL. Just like MARTHA we all see how t hat ended up.

Personally, I don't care for Terrell Owens and his attitude even though I think he is one of the best WRs in the NFL, so I find this whole situiation really funny. Laugh out loud funny. In fact, I would have paid good money to see the look on Owens face when he found out he's now a Raven. Where's reality tv when you need it.

E4L; I am not blaming TO (much) for not knowing. As I originally asserted, his agent is to blame. That incredible lack of detail should not be excused. If I were to be so lax at my job it would come back to haunt me in one way or another.

Bottom line; Greedy Agents and selfish players make a dangerous combo.

Yeah and now the player's union in going to fight the whole trade. Owens will get what he wants and end up in Philadelphia, just wait and see. There is no justice but for those with lots of $$$.

This whole thing is just ridiculous. If I were Baltimore, or even a fan of the Ravens, I would be pissed off. I understand that this is a business for both the players and teams, but c'mon...T.O. is a bad businessman. He got what he wanted first, which was a trade from San Francisco.

I believe that T.O. will complain wherever he goes. That seems to be what he does best. Good luck to whoever he goes to, as I don't know whether he will be part of the solution or a distraction.

Baltimore should offer to make things better by trading him to the Eagles for a 1st round draft pick, thats fair compensation from Philly becuase thats what it would have taken to trump the Ravens offer to SF....
