A number is part of a player's identity. For four years he was identified with the #6 while he was playing here in the best years of his NBA career, so I'd say there is some sentimentality with that. </p>

I'd have no problem with a player on the Pirates wearing 21 or a player on the Penguins wearing 66 and those guys are all time greats </p> </p>
