when asked 2 or 3 years ago if he would play for the bengals, he laughed and made fun of the bengals......but he was offered a four year deal for four million a year, according to bengals.com
hopefully the bengals will sign him, that would be huge
    GO BENGALS!!!!!!

He doesnt fit Marvin Lewis's system because hes a 1 gap tackle and Lewis relies on larger 2 gappers, I dont think hes a very good pickup for them

what are you talking about...A) they havent picked them up yet 2) any pick-up for the bengals defence is a good pick up they cant get a corner, so lets go after sapp, lewis had tony siragusa in baltimore, he just like sapp, the bengals defence was like 28th last year, and they cant stop the run at all, and he would definately help them....what kind of "system" can you have when you are ranked 28th, he doesnt really have one.....so yea, he definately wouldnt fit in his "system" would he

I think Sapp will flourish in a new environment and has enough gas in the tank to help a team for another three years or so. The Bengals would be lucky to get him.

Siragusa and Sapp are completly different players....The Goose was the classic 2 gap tackle, a huge guy whos job was to anchor and not be moved no matter how many O-lineman tried to root him out, Sapp is a 1 gap tackle, he relies on quickness to penatrate up through a single gap and disrupt the offense....the system that Lewis is famous for is a 2 gap system in which he needs 2 huge DTs(Goose and Sam Adams with the Ravens)....those DTs refuse to be moved and therfore require double teams leaving LBs like Ray Lewis, Jamie Sharper, and Pete Boulware to roam around and blow things up....Miami runs the same system which allows Zach Thomas to roam free....1 gaps systems require the entire front 7 to take a single gap and control it through penetration....Sapp will not be successful in Cincinnati unless they change thier defense which I doubt Lewis is willing to do...

he is right, however sapp could be successful by being rotated in on passing downs
