weve done the best, now the worst..... i say the giants simply because they were watchers while the NFC EAST got even more loaded. the best player they get they dont have yet, in which should be Robert Galley, they have to get him to block kearse for the next few years, and to help a bad 0-line, i give them credit for getting emmons, who when hes healthy and in his prime was a very good SLB, hes a question mark now, we all know what happened with the giants and brian mitchell last year the ravens are my second because they lost their best WR waiting for TO, but then again there best WR wasnt a great WR just a decent 1 thats why they got second.
also tennessee, i forgot them they lost kearse, mmcariens, ROBARIE SMITH who i thought was a very good run stopper and i wanted the eagles to get him, and signed no1 significant, aside from that they have a ageing steve mcnair, eddie george, and are in cap trouble and i think they will be if i rember right. i think their window is over and they will be lucky to get the 6th seed, cuz Indy is just entering its prime as a TrUE contender IMO
I would have to say the redskins and the bucs, redskins are just plain stupid what they pay inferior talent, and the bucs who are significantly behind carolina already lost even more ground and got older, much older
ok here is why i disagree with your giants offseason thing. The giants have 3 areas they need to improve in. 1. The O-Line 2. LB 3.QB ok They signed 3 OL's 2 from thebrowns and i dont know where the third is from. I heard the 2 are pretty good.Roehl was lookin good at the end of the season. So were set there. We signed Barrett Green which i think is stupendous and we signed carlos emmons. We might use a RD 2 pick for a LB. Jones is gone but i think short might comeback. We are running the 3-4 now so i think the LB's will be the big ???? QB- we re going to draft big ben and collins had no line lloks good to me. Barber neds to stop fumbling and we signed Terry Cousins for the nickel. so were not losers we arent getting big players we are filling holes
I like the way the Giants are doing it more than I like the way the Eagles are doing it...recent history suggests that teams that sign several moderate free agents are better off than teams that make one or two high profile signings....look at the Patriots, they just fill holes and it provides outstanding depth...
I have to say the worst offseason moves sanfran. They have done nothing to replace there qb,wr's and corners they lost.
they kept ahmad plummer bucs, what are u talking about? beef the pats done that because of a great minded coach, the eagles have done that same philosphy and have a great coach, thats why were both successfull and u cant deny that the giants have a good coach, a bad team and old team,
The Eagles have followed the formula in the past, but not this year....and that sudden change in philosophy screams of desperation....
No, Etrain is absolutely right. SF has had the worst offseason. They lost too much on offense and will now rely heavily on Kevin Barlow (who was splitting time with Garrison Hearst last season). Barlow is good, at best. Tim Rattay had some beginner's luck, but I don't see him leading this team beyond 3rd place in their division.
once the scouting report and breakdown of tim rattay's game is circulated and been broken down and some teams have success he will see the same things and will be very ineffective
I'm sure thats what you all thought about Jake delhomme and Tom Brady...I will never doubt a QB's talant again until I have seen him for an extended peroid of time.
i did not think same thing about brady, his numbers were superior, rattays numbers are average at best. delhomme i am not sold on and i feel could go either way
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TheBeef)</div><div class='quotemain'>The Eagles have followed the formula in the past, but not this year....and that sudden change in philosophy screams of desperation....</div> That is true in some sense. But look at it this way, they had an incredible amount of Cap room. They had two needs that they had to fill, they signed 2 of the best at that position to do it. Eagles still today have one of the most cap room i the league. Look at the Giants, they signed nobody.. And for some reason, they have no cap room. The formula is not to signed aging stars to large contracts (i.e. Hugh Douglas, Taylor, Vincent, Emmons, Staley etc..) To not over pay for players (i.e. Trotter, Barber) and when signing free-agent sign young and productive ones (i.e. Ritchie, Kearse, Owens etc...) Look at it this way, Eagles have 10 draft-picks and honestly very few holes to fill. It's example of brilliant management at it's best. Even NE had to release players (Malloy) because of Salary cap issues. I do not remember even once in the last 6 years that the eagles had to cut a player because of salary cap issues. That to me is incredible. And they have been to the last 3 NFC championship games. WOW!

And ask me again what im talking about lol. Is ahmad plummer gonna go fetch rattay some footballs on offense? Niners did nothing but lose there core and they havent replaced them. Name me there wrs and tell me are they better then eagles practice squad wideouts?

Barrett green who i beleive led the lions in tackles last season. He is an upgrade then who the had before. As for the eagles getting owens and kearse A+ of However losing there two probowl corners in vincent and taylor were huge losses. The corners andy drafted was an indication that bobby and troy would be gone. However they arent for sure bets and they did look beatible at times when they played. I dont think philly or the giants did bad in free agency period. Sanfran, atlanta didnt do much of anything. Sleeper great offseason seattle seahawks Grant wistrom, bobby taylor were good moves. Watch out for there defense next season.
Bearsfan I'm not talking after his first full season I'm saying after his first few games and by the way his numbers in 2001 were average besides his good TD/INT ratio. Your really gonna tell me you thought he was the real deal right out of the gate? You weren't doubting him at all? I would bet you said the same thing you just said about Rattay. Once they get a book on him he's done. Trust me I was thinking that the whole time. It was like lets ride this kids energy till bledsoe was back then it turned into holy shit I think this kids for real. I don't think anyone gave him a shot at first and rightfully so cus he had proved nothing. Thats why I'll wait and see before I bash the AJ feely/Tim Rattay's of the NFL.
Well tom brady always had the talent but for some reason scouts did not think he was better then where he was selected in the draft. As for jake delhome im not a beleiver in him eithier. The man's qb fundimentals are not sound. He throws off his back foot and he doenst throw great tight spirals. However, he does win games and thats all that counts in this league. If jake can come out and repeat what he did last year i will beleive. These things were also said of brad johnson and he prevailed to be a solid qb in the nfl. Bearsfan, by the way anthony thomas isnt even a ellite rb not even close. I can name 20 other rbs who i take over atrain for ff that will get me better numbers. 1.holmes, 2.tomlinson 3.portis 4.a green 5.s alexander 6.d mccalister 7.j lewis 8. e james 9. t henry 10. f taylor 11. w dunn 12. s davis 13. bennett/o smith 14. westbrook 15. barlow 16. hearst 17. garner/alstott 18. domnac davis 19. d staley/ pitt 20. c dillon new raider. Atrain wouldnt even make the list for points number wise. He is Not ellite not even close. If he Was Ellite why did they sign thomas jones to a 4 year deal and why is thomas furious?
i can honestly say i never said anything to the effect that tom brady would not suceed in this league. I am going on the record to say tim rattay wont be a starter for long in this league unless his team wants to lose.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TheBeef)</div><div class='quotemain'>The Eagles have followed the formula in the past, but not this year....and that sudden change in philosophy screams of desperation....</div> ahh beef, when the AR regime came in they set up a 5 year plan that would spend less money to get good players and plug them in to build cap space for the future and take it from there, the eagles did their 5 year thing and now have the cap room that they set up intentionally to do, although i dont agree with THE whole philosphy, i like how they think and think this is the best FO in the NFL who can dissagree with that, they were wrong about no players they let go
