Indeed, the Bucs may have won the Superbowl 2 years ago, but pretty soon that will be long gone memory thanks to Bruce Allen. This team has no young talent on its roster. Players at key positions are getting old, very old (Brad Jhonson, Keenan McCardell and Mike Alstott) They signed 10 players over 30 years old in free agency and the heart the defense is gone (Sapp and Lynch). Next season, and for many seasons to come, this team will look more and more like the team that was the laughingstock of football from 1980-1995 (15 seasons with at least 10 losses) than the won that won the Superbowl a couple years back. As the Bengals are turning things around with young talent (Carson Palmer, Chad Johnson and Rudi Johnson) and Arizona (Fitzgerald, Boldin and Johnson) resembling the 1998 15-1 Vikings (Reed, Carter and Moss), looks like NFL fans will love to pick on Tampa again. *lol*

    Cadillac,

your lack of knowledge of the game truley
shows. Sapp and lynch were both over 30
years of age replaced by younger players.

Tampa's defense has no one over 30 years age.
Jermaine phillps replaces lynch who is a young
saftey with alot of potential. Guess you didnt know
that john lynch has had shoulder and neck problems
for 2 seasons now. Jermaine came in and did outstanding
for him. Like our captain said as he left, phillips will
be a great saftey in the nfl, words from lynch.

    Darrell russell
replacing sapp at age 27 could be the player
that made him one of the best dt's in football.
As for bruce allen i guess you dont pay attention
to salery cap and that the buccaneers before allen
were in deep shit and now our cap has been fixed.

As for laughing stock, Malcom glazer purchased
our football team and we have been one of the
winnigest franchises since. Dont count on it.
We spend money to win and we dont choke in
the nfc championship 3 times in row, if you ask
me i dont think any fan from philly has any room
to be talking of laughing stock. You have the crybaby
who is a cancer and you have no corners from two
of the best corners in the game u once had.

Ps. Sweetheart tampa is going defense once
again at 15 and take a guess what stud player
on our defense we will add. Deanglo hall , johnathan vilma
    dj williams.

Wow, brian kelly, rhonde barber and deanglo hall
on our secondary? if not how bout sheldon quarles
derrick brooks, and vilma or dj williams, i like that
better more speed. For our sweet linebackers.

Tampa isnt going anywhere kid, brad can play on
this new older offensive line with our lineman
at the avg age of 31 to 33 years of age which you claim
is old. Meanwhile we improved on something we never had
a line that can actually block.

What young talent do the Bucs have to replace the veterans in the future?

Its no secret that I have questioned the Bucs offseason moves. I dont personally agree with the philosophy that Bruce Allen operates under, but to call them a laughing stock is a bit strong. They may fail, they may not, time will tell, but its not like they are signing a bunch of hoodlums. Other than the no risk/high reward signing of Russell, all the guys they signed are stand up guys and team players. None of them are known to be selfish, ballhogs, show boaters, criminals, or bad citizens. Its hard to win a Super Bowl, so no team can say they are likely to win one in the next few year, but Tampa is primed to make a run. After the immediate present though, I believe they will experience a lull in success, just because the roster will age a bit. Say what you want about the direction they are headed, but I think laughing stock is a bit off base.

    Cadillac,

Chris simms i dont know if he is our future but he
does have promise. Steve young is tuturing the kid
with some techniques hopefully it works out.

Jermaine phillips replaces a legend in lynch and the
games he replaced lynch last year when johnny could
not play he looked great, our coaches say he has
that natural ablitly like dwight smith did in his move
    to saftey.

Darrell russell replaces warren sapp, Before russell had
his legal issues he was the other dt in the nfl that was
a good as good as sapp if not better. Its a big if but if
he is what he was in oakland we have a great young
    dt with potential.

Since tampa has let it be known they will go defense in
the draft this year. I love that we have some of the best
scouts for talents, one including doug williams.

    Simon rice,anthony mcfarland,sheldon quarles,derrick
    brooks,brian kelly,rhonde barber,dwayne white,
corey smith, corey ivy, and last dwight smith
are our future. All in there early and mid 20's.

I think you are looking to far down the road on
the age garbage. Yes we signed some vetrans at
the age of early 30 on the offensive line, But
it was a area we needed to improve since our o
line was pathetic over the last few years. It isnt like
we went out and signed 40 year olds. Our oldest
vet is brad johnson at 35.

So the answer is we have the nfl draft to get younger
on offense and defense. Tho we have one of the youngest
defenses in the nfl we always upgrade it.

Draft day prediction: Tampa at 15 will take dj williams or
johnthon vilma, sleeper pick we may get deanglo hall.
Rumor is if boulware falls to the third rd we take him also.
You can never have enough linebackers especially with
    our defense and speed.

few points you made are wrong . . . only dwight smith(26) and mcfarland(27) are in there mid 20s on your list(i excluded dwayne white(24), corey smith(24), and corey ivy(27) . . because they arent core of defense and have combinded for 3 starts 35 tackles and 1 sack). The other players on the defense are all over 30 except barber(29). spires(30), quarles(33), Brooks(31), rice(30). This means the average age of the core of the defense is almost 30(29.4) which is not young. So unless you consider 30+ years old in mid-20's the core of defense is not in mid 20's(all ages were as of opening day) Even darrell russell will be 28 on opening day.which if you want to stretch is in mid-20's

Thank you Bearsfan1, you have just answered my question, and made everyone on this discussion board realize that the BUCS indeed don t have any young talent.

PS: Bucs40etrain: check your sources and information on players next time you answer a question.
