I, by no means am mean spirited or evil, but i must say that when Tim Hauck of the Eagles ended Michael Irvin s career in 1999 and put im on a stretcher, it was a kodak moment. Tim Hauck should make the NFL Hall of Fam on that hit alone.
My point is that the Eagles fans received a lot of critisism for being happy and cheering when Irvin was on a strecher, but wouldn t you Giants, Redsking and 49ers fans have done the same thing? Can you think of one player you would like to see have a career ending injury?

That had to be the stupidest statement I have ever heard, and this is the dumbest, most tasteless post I have seen in a long while....If you root for a player to be injured in a game, you are a moron, and dont deserve to watch the grand sport of football.....I have liked most of your posts to this point Caddy, but I admit, I am loosing a bit of respect over this one....

I agree with Beef. Football is just a game in the long scheme of things. As much as I hate Michael Irvin, I enjoyed hating him. I was not elated when his career was over, cause I felt bad for him as a player. You gotta hate players like that, but then you also have to respect them. I must admit though, I love him in broadcasting. Too much Cowboy love for me, but he's good at it

Here's a questions, do you guys think he is a Hall of Famer??

    here's his stats

G GS Rec Yds Avg Lg TD 40+
    159 147 750 11904 15.9 87t 65 31

I think that combined with 3 Super Bowls is good enough in my opinion.

Some players you just love to hate. Irvin was one of those guys. But to want to see him hurt? That's pretty warped...

well he has twice as many receptions as lyn swann and he is in so i think you can pretty much just put every reciever in hall of fame now. Even taking that out of equation i think he is a HOF, but i am slightly biased cuz he is a U of M player and canes' rule

On one hand, I do get elated when a player on an opposing team has been neutralized. In 2002, I did like watching the likes of Shannon Sharpe and Brian Griese get knocked out of games by Bill Romonowski. Those weren't situations where the guys could have been paralyzed or something, nor were the injuries career ending. Romo didn't even appear to be breaking any rules either, and you know that if the refs saw him do anything out of the corner of their eye, they wouldn't have hesitated to flag him. Another example from last season when Clinton Portis got hit in the sternum. All legal, but he did have to leave the game. Obviously, Portis is a huge threat, and anytime that he's not in the game, your team's chances of winning dramatically increase. What's not to like about that? I don't wish for someone's career to end like that, but I'd be lying to you if I said that it wasn't doing me a favor if they are no longer punishing my team (think homefield advantage in playoffs, or gambling). Anyway, I disagree with Cadillac on "Can you think of one player you would like to see have a career ending injury?" because I don't. Beef was right about that, in my opinion.

Let's face it, football is a contact sport, like boxing or hockey.
    Anybody here watch UFC?

Well, I don't think that everyone would agree with you on that. Brenda Warner is a parasite, so you would have to wish for Kurt Warner's career to be ended for that to happen.

i would rather kurt warner get past his injuries and start again so she would have no reason to call radio stations and complain,so i want someone to become un-injured.

    Cadillac,

Philly already has a bad reputation for having some
of sports worst fans of alltime. I wonder why?

Is it throwing batterys at jd drew or scott rolen,
Cheering on irving as he layed there, or your
fans jumping over glass at a flyers hockey game
trying to fight tie domi in the penalty box,
booing mcnabb when he has slow a start, then
later getting back on the wagon.

But to get excitement out of taking someone out
of the game for good, cause of there skill is plain
    classless.

Fortunatley not all philly fans are like this, there are
some decent one's out there. Some of them post
    here and some dont.

Have a little more class then that man. No one
deserves to have there career ended cause someone
    intenially took them out.

I agree with most of you guys on this point. But if I had to pick one...I'd like to see Ray Lewis plant TO on his keyster when they next face each other.

The DWO may be fasting for a Fiedler injury.

bucs you forgot they also booed santa claus, and kobe bryant(who will not go there as a free agent this summer now). they are definately great fans to have when you are on top and not people you want to be on the bad side of while playing there.

i am also very tired of hearing people bring up that stupid santa thing, the first thing they said when rolen was coming back to play against the phillies was how they booed santa and how they thought that rolen was gonna get it worse(of course in my opinion he did)

but seriously, what philly would not boo a santa in a cowboy jersey?

I could care less about the santa thing and the orignal post was classless so with that said I will agree that philly, like boston, has many classless fans that know nothing about integrity or the ups and downs of pro sports.

Why do you think we have so many Yankee's suck chants when we are playing the blue jays for ex. ? a bunch of retards who know nothing basicly start that chant everywhere. it was funny for a minute but thats it.

When I went to the New England - Philly game in week two people wanted to trade McNabb and basicly booed him out of the stadium. Also they started chanting AJ AJ AJ. I almost pissed my pants when that started. It was hilarious. Every city has there yahoo's but I'd say on that day they had an abundance of yahoo's in that stadium.
