QUOTE

ESPN The Magazine - Herb Kohl publicly downplayed his role in last week's signing of Yi Jianlian, the Chinese star Milwaukee selected No. 6 in June's draft against Yi's wishes, but only personal guarantees by Kohl on how Yi will be handled ended the stalemate, a source intimately familiar with the negotiations said. Those guarantees, according to the source, include Yi averaging more than 20 minutes per game and possibly as many as 25. Only such an assurance by Kohl eased concerns that with coach Larry Krystkowiak facing his first full season and GM Larry Harris under pressure to win now to keep his job, Yi would spend much of his rookie year on the bench.

This might be better for the Bucks, one because it adds to their verstility and I think Yi playing 20 mpg off the bench could help them win more games. Two, it allows Yi to develop quicker.

I'm not sure if this is the best idea, they haven't even seen him play an NBA pre-season game. The Bucks don't know how he'll react to the different playing style of the NBA, he might excel or fall apart. Ensuring any amount of minutes or a limit to his minutes is an idiot mistake.
Hey, Larry Krystkowiak, here's a nice sandwich for you - it's not what it looks like, really, it's chocolate covered bananas.
Take a biiiiiiig bite!

The Bucks made their bed, now they have to lay in it. They drafted Yi knowing what would happen. Granted I dont think Yi playing 20 per would really be all that bad for him, but this whole situation was a disaster and I can only imagine what will happen if Yi doesnt see 20 mins per.
I think he'll be solid, an all-rookie second team type player.

He'll avaerage 9pts 5reds off the bench.

So, Herb Kohl said he didn't do anything except meddle with the coaching and insist that the coach give good minutes to a player who might or might not deserve them. I liked Yi going into the draft and I think he'll be a good player, but that better come sooner rather than later or things could get interesting in Milwaukee.

Congratulations T-Wolves fans!
You no longer have the worst run organization in the NBA.
