    QB - Gannon
    RB - *Dillon / Wheatley
    WR - Porter
    WR - Brown / Rice
    TE - T. Johnson / Jolley

What is to become of Gannon? Will Tuiasosopo take over if Gannon fails to have a fast start. Can Gannon return to 2002 form? How will the Raiders use Brown or Rice? Will either of them have any fantasy value? Jolley came on late last year and was pretty consistant. What's the Tight End situation? Who will see more passes? Dillon could be the wildcard here. He could give the Raiders that consistant running game that they now lack. * denotes the likelihood of Cincinnati trading him to the Raiders.

There is some deadline coming up that will determine(as well as what compensation the Bengals will get) whether or not the Raiders get Corey Dillon. The draft will happen first, though, and I'm suspending much of my own opinion on these topics until after next weekend. As of now, I don't believe that Gannon will get his 2002 form back. That was a career year for most quarterbacks that I've ever seen play, and to top what he did would be nearly impossible. Couple that with new playcalling, a recovering throwing shoulder, and 38 years of age. I don't see him breaking any NFL records in 2004. However, I do believe that he's good enough to maintian the starting position, and win a championship with the right supporting cast. As for all the other positions, let's wait until after the draft.

Cool. I will be interested to hear your post-draft insight especially with Oakland opening at Pittsburgh. We'll have to do a breakdown before the game and see how close we come to predicting facets of the game. Should be a interesting offseason along the way as well.

On a side note, if you're bored, take a look at the other site's forum. The gang is back and having at us. I was tempted to post, but ah, it's not worth it. It's not like they're talking about football. That's what this forum is for. [IMG]

Yes, I laughed a lot today while I read their posts. Thanks for the tip, otherwise, I would have never looked there. The idiots are back in charge at the asylum....a hostile takeover of a puppet regime.

PB and Jett will now count for a full 50% of all posts on their board and they claim that this site is "struggling". Did you notice that PB has at least two separate aliases on there now? MercifulFate and Penumbra. I think that he has at least two on this site as well. Poor Zackman. He's the real victim here, as PB stiffed him on that case of beer that he promised him.

Yeah, I was bored at work so I took a peek and there it was. He named names and picked on just about everyone. I was so tempted to shoot back, but alas, it's not worth it. I have nothing to prove. The only thing that bothered me is that he mentioned that the majority of "us" were drug users. Which just isn't true. And I thought the shots at Glenso & Pats were completely out of line. It's totally against their code of conduct as well.

Where do Calos Francis and Johnny Morant fit in? Are they the Rice & Brown of Oakland's future? Francis is a speed demon.... He could be very good in the future.

Also, will they stick with Fargas & Wheatley? They have Redmond as well? Will they go after Zereoue?

Depth. More competition at camp this year. For me, that about sums up the Zereoue deal. Getting Staley or Dillon would have been a much more interesting sigining.

With the Raiders' improvements to the O-line, watch out when Zereoue returns to Pittsburgh for week 1. Aaron Smith, meet Robert Gallery. While we're at it, Pittsburgh secondary, meet Robert Gallery.

Maybe not the flashiest signing, but if they keep the offensive scheme they have been running, he could do some damage.

Nice reply ROTR... that's what I was waiting for. I guess I'm glad to have Staley vs. Zereoue, but I never disliked Famous Amos. He may just be coming into his own. With your line upgrades and system that you run, he may flourish. You might have gotten a little gold mine in Amos... I wish him the best of luck from week 2 through 17! [IMG]

Amos doesn't have as many dings as the usual 27 year-old back due to low use. He?s short as hell, but maybe he can hide behind the O-line (or even Gannon) waiting to make his move toward the scrimmage line. Assuming Wheatley as the starter, he would have a similar role with the RAIDERS as he had with Pittsburgh (change of pace to the bruiser who runs up the middle).

the thing is Amos was given the chance and he blew it!!!!!!! I think they ave an average O-Line there so you cant blae that on him like other RB's. Bettis took over for him. In the begining of the season Jerome was talked about as if he died or something..... he was a good RB etc. Jerome still has some left in his tank. Not a 1,000 yard season but i think that he is still very useful for those 4th and 1 situations. If Duce gets it goin then he is VERY hard to stop. I would know watching him demolish our D for like 140 yds last year. But if contain him for a quarter or 2 he isnt the kind of playerthat just snaps out of a funk.

Saying all this i think Amos will have like 800 yds. The raiders have been real pass happy the last few years. I dont blame them with rice, porter, and brown.

He had to play behind an injured line that couldn't run or pass block properly. I think this kid still has potential and was a good pick up by the Raiders. In 2001, when Bettis was injured, he played very well showing flashes of Barry Sanders (spin move). I think he got caught up in the pressures of competing with Bettis last season and then no line help hurt him.

    I'm rooting for him.

Of course. I'm becoming rather annoyed at how many people are overlooking the Steelers. But we shall see. Maybe they won't rebound from 6-10. I don't buy that, but I'm a big fan.

BUT, otherwise, I hope "Famous" Amos works out for you guys.

Overlooking the Steelers? Not me. I don't have the confidence to overlook any team after last season. <sigh>

That's good to hear. Oakland & Pittsburgh are paddling the same boat this year, and that boat is called "Recovery". No two AFC teams were more disappointing last season and no two teams need a faster turn around. Of course that is why the week one matchup is so interesting. One of these teams have to start out 0-1 and feeling a tad bit of desperation very early in a long season.

It may be the same boat, but I think that a week one loss would be tougher on the Steelers than the RAIDERS based simply on the week two games. RAIDERS are hosts to Buffalo. Steelers are roadies in Baltimore.
