Like the title/description says, NBA Live 08 released their demo today. It's available for download (562.57 MB) on XBOX Live as well as for PS3. I certainly am a big NBA 2k guy, as you can see from the big thread I made, but I definitely want to check Live out. Not only do I want to see if it has improved, I just want a new game to play around with for a while. I'm downloading right now, I'll post my thoughs later on tonight.

Damnit. Times like these I really wish I could find a way to fix my PS3 internet.

Don't worry it's not out yet for PS3. But there is a new update.

I just played it a few times, and I was very impressed. Live has taken a HUGE leap this year. The graphics and player movement is literally 100 times better than it was last year, it's much more realistic. The new post game is a big time upgrade as well, and you can create a lot of different moves with your back to the basket. The speed of the game is that intrigued me the most. In the past, Live has been an insanely fast-paced game to the point where it was completely unrealistic, but the speed has slowed down and the player movements are remarkably better. I also like how if you hold the left trigger in different ways when you shoot, the player will shoot step-backs and/or side-step. It's too bad the demo only lets you play two 2-minute quarters.

I'm still getting NBA 2k, because that game is undoubtedly the most realistic and purest basketball game on the market, but I certainly want at least rent Live a couple times.

To download or not to download, that is the question...so far I've downloaded Tiger Woods, Nascar and NCAA Football on my PS3 from EA. I've tried NCAA and Nascar, was so disappointed that I deleted Tiger Woods without even trying it out.

WOW, I'm really impressed. I like to shoot free throws now that it uses the sixaxis.
