It's April 19th and time to start thinking about August. (Ok, I don't know why April 19th would be relavant, but it just sounds good.) We need to start discussing rules and regulations. *We need a new league name since the RZFFL can no longer be used. *What new rules should we add if any? *Any suggestions on scoring system changes? *General Setup - How many teams should we have this year? Should we split into two leagues if we get too many interested? *Any other random suggestions? I will be posting a sign up sheet sometime soon to get the ball rolling. You can never start too early!
I would like to have as many people as we can, but I get concerned with the talent pool once we get much past the 16. If we do more, and split into two divisions, can we have separate drafts so that the same player can be drafted once in each division? I don't like keeper leagues, but do you want to look at keeping one player as a franchise player. You could only franchise the player one year, and it would cost you your first round pick and another early pick in exchange for a later pick. It would have to be costly for the person but at least do-able. I know some people draft a pass rusher, a tackler, and a dback, but I haven't done that before in my leagues. Basically, I was pretty satisfied with our setup last year.
The only concern that I have about a keeper system is that it really kinda throws the monkey wrench in when new teams come and old teams go. I think when you have a league that's so spread out and you potentially have lots of turnover, you should leave the keeper theory out.

We should have separate drafts between the 2 conferences so that the talent doesn't get too thin. Division rivalries can be fun. We could even break the divisions into our actual locations. For example, the guys from Massachussetts would be in the same division as Giantsfan1 or something. That would also make Send Em Back Al and blackadder my division rival (potentially). What do you think?
We can certainly see how it fills in. I'm not sure we'll have 32 guys, but if we do, we can have two 16 team drafts.
I would definately like in this year. I really regreted not joining last year, and teaching all of you how it is supposed to be done
I will set up a thread soon acting as a sign up sheet. With 32 spots to fill, we need to get it going early.
