HEre's my list of top ten teams in the league before the draft, you are all welcome to disagree

    1. NE Patriots
They are the returning champs, and they have not taken a step back. It pains me to put them No.1 but I am fair. I think the Ty Law situation needs to be resolved, and Corey Dillon can go either way.

    2. Eagles
This has to be the year, boy that statement sounds familiar. With additions of TO and Kearse will adress two major weaknesses last years. Losing Vinent and Taylor may open up some weaknesses. I think the player they will miss the most though, is Duce Staley. Overall though, this team will be a better team next year then they were the last.

    3. Carolina Panthers
They did make it to the Super Bowl. Gotta give them the props.

    4. Denver Broncos
I think Jake the Snake will be very good in his second year, and addition of Champ Bailey will solve a huge weakness at Corner. I think this team is very solid. Mike Shanahan is a very good coach that is due for another playoff run.

    5. St. Louis
On Paper alone this team is great. Mike Martz's stupidity though will always hold them back.

    6. Indianapolis
Some will want to have them higher. I just think with the money spent on Manning, they are cutting back in other areas (namely defese). I also think that the Edge might be close to being done, he has not been the same after injury.

    7. Seattle
A very good young offensive team, with some aging stars on defense.

    8. Kansas City
Their defense is still their achilles heel, and I have not seen anything of yet that would have halped the problem.

    9. Tennessee
I loved this team. However years of getting close, but not close enough have finally taken their toll. The salary cap is in hell. They lost their top players on their D-line. It's gonna get harder and harder to be good for them.

    10. Miami
A perennial close but not close enough team of the NFL. Maybe next year [IMG]

Obviously I'm going to disagree because the Pack is not on the list. They finished the year 7-2 and nearly beat the Eagles (twice), but couldn't finish it off. They haven't lost anyone of note and have gotten better in coverage in the secondary with the addition of Roman. I don't know who you knock off the list to put GB in, maybe MIA (no offense...literally, I guess [IMG] ) because of the perennial closeness...maybe Denver, they always have a great offseason on paper, then tank the season somehow.

I don't think I would place St. Louis so high. I think Martz had a few good years, but if the coach is a liability then the whole team will fail.

I ll go even deeper, i ll rank the teams by division, then i ll do my top 10:

    AFC

    1)NYJETS
    2)New England
    3)Buffalo
    4)Miami

Comments: With Pennington at full strengh, acquiring McCareins, and S.Moss in his second full season at starter, i wouldn t be surprised to see this team win the division. They also got younger on defense.
I do think New England will have a winning record, but they couldnt repeat as champions 3 years ago and EVERYONE thought Tampa Bay would repeat. Nonetheless, they still have talent and depth and Tom Brady is a winner, but i know a lot of you will go against me, but i predict a Wildcard at best. As for Buffalo, i think Drew Bledsoe is too good of a quarterback to not turn things around and we will probably see a glimpse of McGahee, but it won t be good enough for a playoff spot. In Miami, i predict a didaster. Boston will be a bust, so will AJ Fiedler, AJ Feeley, Jay Feeley, Jay Fiedler or whoever is at quarterback because it doesnt matter. they will loose. That OL is weak and Ricky Williams won t always rush for 1500-16000 yards. On the defense, Seau and Z.Thomas are getting old.

    1)Baltimore
    2)Cincinnati
    3)Pittsburgh
    4)Cleveland

Baltimore: it doesn t matter who s playing quarterback, because this defense is too good for them not to win this division. Cincannati has a lot of upside and a lot of this at risk with Palmer, however, this is a young team with a good coach who should finally sneak in the playoffs.
I do think this will be Cowher last year as head coach. Maddox is good for now, draft DeAngelo Hall or Dunta Robinson because this team hasnt had a shutdown corner since Rod Woodson. I do predict Cleveland to be the worst team in the league. The best move they could do is to draft Roestlisberger and do like Pennington and Leftwitch, learn from the sidelines first.

    1)Indiannapolis
    2)Jacksonville
    3)Tennessee
    4)Houston

Indiannnapolis: Manning! James,!Harrison,!Clark! Freeney! .............Wayne??Yes his name is Reggie Wayne and don t forget his name as he will play a major role in the offense next year.
Do i dare say it?This is the year that the Colts WIN IT ALL. Jacksonville s Byron Leftwitch in his second season will turn around the Jaguars into a wildcard team. Tennessee: they lost their number 2 receiver, McNair and George got older. Kearse is gone. Robaire Smith is Gone and gone also are the winning ways in Tennessee. Houston is still a cpuple years away fron contending.

    1)Kansas City
    2)San Diego
    3)Denver
    4)Oakland

Kansas City: to quote a famous wrestler, their offense is the most electrifying in football. Their defense is questionable and will prevent them from going far in the playoffs. LaDainian Tomlinson will once again carry the Chargers on his back, this time to an 6-10 record.
Denver s Joke Plummer, Jake The Mistake Plummer won t have Clinton Portis to rely on, he has an old receiving corps(R.Smith and MacAffrey),and an old OL. This will be Shanahan last year in Denver.
Oakland: do you really think any team in football can win with an average age of 39 years?

    NFC

    1)Philadelphia
    2)Dallas
    3)Washington
    4)Nygiants

Philadelphia took the steps it needed to reach the Superbowl: signing Kearse and Owens. Dallas is still in a rebuilding project but is probavly the best coached team in the NFL. Washington s Snyder going on a shopping spree will once again fail. NYGiants are qyuite a ways from getting out of the basemnt. Besides, they are in one of the toughest division, someone has to loose.

    1)Atlanta
    2)Carolina
    3)New Orleans
    4)Tampa Bay

Michael Vick will do wonders for the Falcons. You have to give credit where credit is due, Carolina made it to the Superbowl and should have won it. Jake Delhomme is the real deal. New Orleans has a lot of offensive punch with Brooks, McAllister, Horn and Stallworth to challenge for a wildcard sopt. Tampa Bay went fron the Bucs to the YUCS.

    1)Green Bay
    2)Minnesota
    3)Detroit
    4)Chicago

This will probably be Brett Favre s last hurrah. Minnesota is always a contender when Randy Moss decides to show up. Detroit and Chicago are both in rebuilding mode.

    1)Seattle
    2)StLouis
    3)Arizona
    4)San Francisco

Seattle: it took Mike Holmgren a long time to built this time, but Seahawks fans no longer have to wait for a winner. This team is young and talented. StLouis isn t the powerhouse it used to be, but they are still pretty darn good. Arizona.....Fitzgerald, Boldin, Johnson......does Moss, Carter and Redd ring a bell? San Francisco: Who will be catching the ball? Nevermind that! Who will be throwing it?

I like the boldness of your predictions. They don't sound half bad. Let's take a look at your rankings....

1)Indiannapolis - Do they really have the defense to be #1?
2)Philadelphia - Could be the second best team in the league, not a bad choice for #2.
3)Baltimore - Baltimore is a good running team with a very good defense, but not quite #3.
4)Atlanta - Very bold at #4. Defense hasn't proved anything. Should be top 15 with Vick back. May even surprise and be top 10.
5)Kansas City - About where I would have them.
6)Seattle - They continue to get better and could rise, but defense is aging. Holmgrem needs to play catch up on defensive side of ball.
7)Green Bay - Packers could be just this good. They were so close last year and their team is one year wiser.
8)NYJets - Great possibilities, but will be unsettled with their running game. McCareins could be the difference, but defense needs improvement as well. Very inconsistant squad last year.
9)New England - Very low for the talent level. They should be even better. Top 5 in my opinion.
10)Cincinnati - Palmer could hurt their chances for a top 10 appearance. Defense is on the rise, but average right now.
11)Carolina - Too low for the defending NFC Champs. They should finish in the top 5-7 at least.
12)Dallas - It's tough to predict what the Tuna will do. They could be anywhere from 5-15.
13)Minnesota - Maybe... the offense is there, but the defense still lacks.
14)New Orleans - Tough division, much offense, no defense. This could be Haslett's last chance.
15)StLouis - On their way down...

Every year people say Miami will fall flat on their face and every year they contend until the end...I dont expect this year will be any different....I found most of your predictions to be completly off base, and unlikely....not surprising though from an Eagle fan...

I agree beef anyone who has limp wristed pennington leading the jets to a division title this season must be on something. They only got worse on Defense this year and have a ton of holes in teh secondary. Don't foget the 5 picks we had on Pennington last season. It didn't matter if a guy was open or not cause it took so long for the ball to travel 15 yards that are guys were hoping all over it. Then to rank us at 9 is either jealousy or insanity take your pick. If Colvin comes back as well as having 9 picks and 6 in the first 4 rounds I'd say we are in pretty good shape.

So as usual my BEARS get no respect but that's o.k. the underdog role we will take once again. We will just have to prove ourselves to be the "MONSTERS OF THE MIDWAY" once again.[IMG]

    I don't see

Beyond that, the draft is going to jumble up the numbers below that. I have teams that I would put at about a #12 now, that will probably be a #5 or #6 after the draft.

Interesting... Most likely, one of those teams will fall from grace. Which one will it be?

Based on the TO factor, my money is on Philly. However, I'm not talking a substantial drop, but down to 10 or so. Also, I have a hard time counting on Kearse being available all season. Two starting corners gone, but the rest of their D line should be healthy and that will help. Linebackers need some help, and will the RBs step up?

Sounds reasonable. Injuries could be the reason. Someone always comes crashing down. Someone that you expect a lot from disappoints.

I am concerned with the Panthers. Looking at their roster, I don't see a reason for them to falter. I hope they don't, because I like a lot of the young talent they have brought on in the last few years. However, something in me is worried they will be like the Giants recently. Decent talent, subpar performances with the exception of visiting the NFC Championship or Superbowl in between the subpar performances.

Its too bad they don't get the respect yet. I think if Delhomme can come out with the same fire that he ended the season with, and if Stephen Davis can provide that the "30 year old running back barrier" is a myth, they should be in good shape. Foster should help spell Davis and keep him fresh for the whole season.

Bucs to finish last in the south lmaooooo.

Get real our offensive line is better then it
ever has been. Our team is healthy and has
more weapons with speed on it. Last carolina
who barley beat this team with alot of its bucs
starters out last year, will not be so fortunate to
walk away with the south, especially when they
lost 3 key offensive lineman in free agency.

Think tampa loses 7 of 9 by a matter or 3 or less
this year with alstott, jurevicous, brian kelly back?
Alstott back we have bucball which means chew
the clock down. Jurevicous gives us that playmaker
that broke the eagles back not once but two times.
last brian kelly our best corner gives us our shutdown
corner we lacked all last year.

    Minn,tampa,seattle,philly,atlanta,greenbay will all be
contenders again. Carolina falls off the radar they lost
too many key offensive lineman and one of them joined
the bucs. We will be back in contention healthy and ready
to play bucball. Special teams is fixed and our offensive
line is completed never count us out.

The jury is out in my mind on whether the Bucs will rebound or not. They have the talent in certain spots and should be able to contend, but by no means dominate. But then again, the Patriots won in 2001, disappeared 2002 and won again in 2003 so who knows?
