The obvious move for Phil is to the Knicks as GM and coach - he's wanted both jobs since his days with the Bulls, and surely the Knicks need it.</p> </p>

I think it's his time to retire, he's had a very fulfilling, hall of fame, career with plenty of championship rings. Right now, the Lakers are not in any place close to championship contension and he needs to retire at some time, this is the best time.

NY would give him the hat trick.</p> Maybe he sees that he can work with Curry as the focal point of his triple post offense. Marbury could be a truly awesome player if his talent were properly harnessed. Maybe he likes the Curry/ZBo combo (they do complement one another on offense decently). Maybe he wants to take the front office job he seems to have wanted all along (and Isaiah may well deserve the boot).</p> On the other hand, Phil's assistant coaches (Tex Winter) are really old (Winter retired, no?). One of the knocks on him is that he has mostly coached contender-ready teams. He may feel that LA isn't committed to rebuilding and that he has something to prove by building a team from scratch. Scratch does describe the Knicks - and they have contracts and an owner willing to spend well into the luxury tax. It seems like a decent situation for a guy who knows what he's doing.</p> </p>

I personally feel Phil Jackson will be done after this season. He's had a long, promising career as head coach in the NBA, and he will go down as one of the greatest coaches ever in the game of basketball. He's won championships, coached tons of superstars, and has all the money he will ever need. Unless the Lakers magically land another superstar, or somehow turn back into contenders, I doubt Phil will be back next season. He is growing older, and his health will always be a concern. I'd like to see him go on and enjoy his life outside of coaching. Who knows, maybe we'll see him in the front office?
I think that if the Lakers don't bring any help that this should be his last season because this two season his been with the team had been horrible they have just ruined his records i hope he does come back but not to a crappy team that we have right now.
If it's PJax last season and the Lakers want to continue with the Triangle then Kurt Rambis is next in line.
