<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>A terrified boy of 16 dialled 999 for help after clinging to the side of a cliff for more than an hour - and was put on hold. </p> Terry Price was holding on to the sheer cliff wall at Uphill, Somerset, after seeing his mate, Roy Williams, 18, plunge 40ft to the ground. </p> The petrified teenager was too scared to climb down in case he fell too so he called for help using his mobile phone. But the youngster was put through to South Wales Police and Nottinghamshire Police before he finally managed to alert local officers. </p> </p><div id="ArtContentImgBodyC" style="width: 470px"> Terry Price was rescued off the cliff face</p></div> Emergency services dashed to the scene but paramedics were unable to take Roy straight to hospital because eight fire engines had blocked the entrance. </p> Terry, of Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, said: "I was hanging on for my life and they put me on hold when I managed to ring 999. </p> "I couldn't believe it. It felt like I'd been clinging on for ages - it was my worst nightmare come true." </p> He added: "It was half an hour before I was put through to the right person and then another hour until they arrived. </p> "I was scared because I had seen my mate Roy fall and he was hurt. I won't be climbing up there without a rope again. I want to thank all those that helped us." </p> Roy suffered a fractured thumb, a broken tooth and facial injuries as well as being badly shaken up by his ordeal.</div></p> What service!</p> -Petey </p>
