as i watched him draft, i was shoked that the rams traded up 2 picks to draft a RB. not because theey have marshall, because i think it was smart they drafted jackson, but because they traded up 2 picks to get a rb who would still be there at their own pick. the bengals werent going to draft him, and either was teh packers cuz their set at RB, but the rams traded up to get a guy they could get for free. if they didnt trade up, they would get him without giving up anything, and save money because steven jackson will demand more because the rams traded up for him.

that was this years vikings move IMO

Dawk correct also the rams do have lamar gordon and
arlein harris who were valuble to the rams when faulk
was down. The rams had other needs, and rb wasnt a
    good choice imo.

They traded up because they were afraid Tennessee was going to trade up and take Jackson. Good or bad, that's why.

because they traded it with 9 minutes left, if they wanted him that bad they would not have traded it or they would have picked him b4 the treade

if they thought they could move down and still get him. they would do it, so the Rams might have had to jump the Bengals to get him, or another team might have been trying to move up and the Rams got wind of it...

TO it was a good move by the rams, and i know that martz probably had 3 or 4 people tell him that they should get jackson he was going to be great, kiper had him rated as a top 10 player in draft.
