Both were unstoppable when they played each other in high school. I think they lit each other up for 40 something a piece. I think Carmelo will have a huge advantage playing at Syracuse. He is learning how to move without the ball, and to be a piece of a team, instead being the go to guy every night. Fundamentally he will be more sound than LeBron when they both get drafted next year. However, LeBron has more 'potential.' I think these 2 could develop into another Kobe vs. T-Mac comparison in the near future.

Carmelo is going to be way better than lebron james because of these reasons: Carmelo is learning much more in college, when lebron comes into the pros, hell be like a tmac or kobe, they sucked when they came in. Carmelo=vince, in terms of shining when he comes into the league Lebron=Kobe, so much critisism when he came to the NBA. And for those of u that didnt know that kobe sucked his first 2 years, i sugest u find out

So if Carmelo = VC and LeBron = Kobe...after the 3rd season LeBron will be a superstar and Carmelo will be constantly injured and always whining. I don't think that's fair to Carmelo. I think these 2 will be the new Kobe vs. T-Mac topic.
Everyone say's VC has bad D, but I've never really paid attention. But the funny thing is that he avgs. 2 blocks per game for his career. Thats a lot for a guard.

Carmelo won the high school dunk contest, he beat Amare in the finals. Kobe dick rider... not really, Laker fanatic...YES As for VC, the guy has so much potential, but he has no heart or desire. He took the league by storm, but in the playoffs the Knicks got him so shook he never recovered. He stopped being as aggressive and started relying on that damn 18 footer. I liked VC a lot when he was a Tarheel and I think he needs to go back and find the tenacity he had in college. He took pride in his defense and played above the rim. As for health, a lot of players are injured, but they are able to play through it. Kobe played with broken ribs, bum knee. Pierce plays through the pain. T-Mac carried the Magic last season with a bad back. AI definately plays through the pain. I'd like to see VC suck it up and do the same.

Lebron is a good basketball player but I think that his going to be like Kobe and T-Mac when they came in early. That is why I believe that Carmelo will win Rookie Of The Year!!
