I have to make a trip to KY. We will be leaving today (May1st) and hope to return by the 8th or 9th. My Father is having a stem-cell transplant for his Leukemia and he needed me there. I just didn't want you guys to think I had deserted you. I'll be back when I return home. Those of you of a praying persuasion, your prayers would be appreciated. This treatment gives him the best chance at a cure (30%), but carries a 10% risk of not surviving the treatment. Lots of gray area in between. I'll miss these boards while I'm gone. See you fellas soon.
I meant to see you before you left work yesterday but failed too. Have a safe trip and I will be praying for you and your father buddy, good luck!
I spoke to KC this afternoon, on the phone, and he said that so far, so good, but it isn't over yet, so let's keep his dad in our prayers.
That's right...the party's back! Everything is looking pretty good at this point. If the white blood cell count continues to travel in a northerly direction, Dad may get to head home Wed. or Thurs. This will mean that the transplant of stem cells was successful and that his body has regained the ability to produce it's own white cells. Of course, whether it has cured the leukemia or just provided another remission remains to be seen. At least this stage is going well. I'll update this thread if I get any new info. Thanks for the prayers, concerns, and well-wishes. You guys are the best!
