<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Tim Brown of the Los Angeles Times reports: The Lakers have choosen to pass on Chris Whitney and look into getting some frontcourt help. Whitney said Monday his agent was talking to the Orlando Magic and Indiana Pacers. Possible options for the Lakers include: Mark Bryant, Tyrone Hill, Horace Grant and Stanley Roberts. Bryant and Hill are still under contract with their respective teams but could be released sometime this week source-realgm.com</div> He would be a good pick-up by the magic..he averages 9.6 points per game so he is useful.
Would be a great pick up for the magic. Almost 10 points off the bench, yes please. However, he'll take minutes off Jacque Vaughn?? Hopefully not too many!!
I would like to see Stanley Roberts back in uniform for some team. I want to see if he still can play or if he lost everything. I like him but i dont want him playing for the lakers, especially if he turns out to be something special again
I would like to see Roberts and Shaq on the same team again. Roberts could start at PF if he still has game.
IF STANLEY ROBERTS SIGNED WITH THE LAKERS, FORGET SAMAKI WALKER TRADE HIM FOR SOME MONEY AND ANOTHER PLAYER OFF THE NUGGETS OR SOMETHIN. THE LAKERS COULD USE HIM! (back to lowercase mode). I seriously think the Lakers would sign Stanley Roberts and then they'll have a Terrific Trio (u like that name don't u?) of a team. Imagine it, Kobe, Shaq, AND Roberts. I mean yeah, he may not be that good but they'll develop him.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "allnet":</div><div class="quote_post">Don't know much about roberts..what were his stats before?</div> Stanley Roberts went to the same school as Shaq and was drafted a year before by the Magic. He was supposed to be as good or better than shaq. 1 Year later they drafted shaq and traded roberts to the clippers. where he spent 3 injury plauged years. He then spent time in houston portland and sixers. He was suspended by the league for drug abuse. He has been out of the league since then. Recently the sixers released there rights to him right after he was eligible to play. He is now looking for a team to take a chance on him.
he's a nice big body that used to have all the skills to compete in the NBA... as i havent seen him compete in like 3-4 years i can't say what his skill level would be like now but it'd be interesting to see if the Lakers take a chance on him...but i would imagine that it is not that impressive if a team desperate for big bodies (such as the Sixers) released him...

Maybe the Mavs will sign him...then they'd have a chance at Sacramento and the Lakers and their big man.
