Stats aren't everything, that is true, not to take sides or anything here, but if the stats were based on how exciting you were instead of how many points you'd get, kobe would probably win. Not saying T-Mac isn't exciting, but Kobe does the craziest stuff. Oh yeah, i got a question....has there every been a dominant player that wasn't exciting to watch?
True, true, but back in the day, people would've seen him shoot and be like, "WHOA, did you see Wilt Chamberlain's shot last night?" So, he probably woulda been exciting to watch back then, but i agree, i cannot stand watching Wilt Chamberlain play.
Shaq yawn yawn yawn  he is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO boring. him getting the ball is like seeing a fat 900 pound clown getting it. read my sig.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "SCBrian":</div><div class="quote_post">kobe's dunks are just nasty...he's a better in game finisher in the lane then jordan ever was...</div> That's the dumbest thing I've ever read on these boards.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "vinsanity03":</div><div class="quote_post">what about VC?!</div> What about him? he isn't very good anymore..shame as for who is better...between mcgrady and kobe at the same age? very close both are great players.I would give the edge to kobe but it so close. Both will improve alot from now til say 3 more years from now.

You have a valid opinion there. I saw the first statement and was like
So, he probably woulda been exciting to watch back then, but i agree, i cannot stand watching Wilt Chamberlain play. First of all, how old are you? If you are young and do not like that kind of style of play then of course you wouldn't appreciate it. Poeple that have followed the NBA for that long have seen Wilt play live and not on ESPN Classic like that type of play. Younger audiences are brought up with high flying dunks, crazy passes, and what-not. That is probably why you don't like to watch him play. But I was brought up on high flying dunks, and crazy passes but I still love watching older guys play, Wilt, Julius, West, etc. They executed the fundementals of the game of basketball really well, something you don't see anymore.
Mikan, Russel, Olajuwon, Jabbar. Watching these guys is an aquired taste. Im sure no one here cares about Mikan. But he was the first Big Man to totally dominate a game. Russel, Argueably the best center ever, yet you hardly ever hear about the guy... how many championships did the celts win with him at the helm? Olajuwon, at the beginning of his career, he led the league in Technical Fouls. And All he had really was dunks and un ending talent. Remember, the guy never touched a bball till he was in college. After 5-6 years into his career, when he really started opening up his game, he didnt get as much attention. Wilt. Wilt just got boring because it was too easy for him. He was truly ahead of his time. He is one of the few players from back in the day that could still dominate the league.
i dunno if wilt could still dominate the league man...maybe dominate against everyone but shaq? wilt had nice moves around the hoop etc but i don't think he was bulky enough to bang against shaq...

I enjoy watching the older players, but with Wilt he looked to robotic out there. He also was too dominant, similar to Shaq these days. I think a lot of people find Shaq boring for the same reasons I find Wilt boring. One of my favorite players of the past to watch is Rick Barry. He actually had some pretty sweet hang time.
