I'm a fan, and if you are a TRUE fan, then they are always a contender. True fans don't bet against their team, and never say MAYBE next yera, say we got it next year, it gives you that confidence thing.

I asked Denny why automated crawler visitors look even at very old threads and he said, because the old threads might change. So here's a good example. This thread goes back to when I was a little boy.
I'm not sure why I would lock it when I've said many times in the past that I don't mind the bumping of old threads and I think it is a nice feature to have. Other sites like Oregonlive's Blazer forum delete threads and posts after a week so you have people claiming that they never said something or always knew this or that. It's stupid. Nate hates the bumping of threads. On this subject we disagree so I guess you're right, you'll never have consistency from the mods... in this one area.
Now that it's summer and everyone took off, you can't just count on the mods to start ridiculous threads every day. You have to bring back a new old thread every day and carry your weight around here.
Just because the question was asked 11 years ago doesn't mean I shouldn't answer it. Afterall, what is 11 years within the context of the 13.5 billion year history of the universe?
