March 18, 1978: Calvin and Clyde: 20 years apart
Two-fold retro. In 1978, Calvin Murphy went ballistic, scoring a team-record 57 points on 24 of 40 shooting (9-12 from the FT line) in a 106-104 loss to the Nets. Exactly 20 years later to the date, Clyde Drexler announced he will end his illustrious NBA career to become coach of the UH Cougars. In honor of Calvin and Clyde, two class acts, we go retro.

    March 29, 1990: Akeem celebrates Clutch's birthday with quadruple-double
Akeem knew it was Clutch's birthday. That's why he didn't just go for the triple-double, but instead became just the fourth player in NBA history to record a quadruple-double as the Dream scored 18 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, handed out 10 assists and swatted 11 shots against the Milwaukee Bucks. In honor of Hakeem's all-around brilliant performance, we go retro.

April 29, 1995: 19 threes rained down on Jazz
After a heartbreaking loss in Game 1 of their first round matchup with the 60-win Utah Jazz, the Rockets responded bigtime in Game 2. The Rocks hit an NBA playoff record 19 three-pointers, 7 by Kenny Smith, in a 140-126 blowout win over the Jazz in Utah. The huge road win was one of 8 the Rockets would get over the next 5 weeks in the most phenomenal playoff run in NBA history. It's retro time.

    May 5, 1995: FORTY-FORTY
Facing elimination in the first round down 2 games to 1 against the Utah Jazz, the Rockets' stars ignited the team. Hakeem Olajuwon scored 40 points and Clyde Drexler threw down 41 in a 123-106 pasting of the Utah Jazz in Game 4 of their first round matchup. Karl Malone said afterwards he wasn't concerned since they were going back home. In honor of Karl Malone's stupidity and Hakeem and Clyde's huge games, we go retro.
