panthers winning it all, of course, and repeating... i would also like to see favre get a flag thrown for unsportsmanlike conduct when he hits an opponent on the side of the head like he is frequently prone to do...
When you are a player like Favre you have a right to hit anyone on the side of the head, refs wouldn't even throw a flag if he hit them on the side of the head. I can definetely see the panthers winning the superbowl this year, but I really think Jacksonville and Washington will be very good, not necesarily win the SB but they will be good
when you are a player like favre all you deserve is to be banned from hall of fame for strahan sack stunt, and to be forced to change spelling of name to match pronunciation.
Brett Favre is arguably the best QB ever to play the game, he wasa born with the last name so he can't change it (blame his parents), Strahan would have gotten another bsack by the end of the year. A lot of QBs would have done the same thing
Unfortunately, Strahan wouldn't have gotten another sack...it was the last game of the season and late in the 4th, so, coming from a Pack fan, he did tank the play. I'm not proud of it, but who am I to question him. BTW, yeah, he is one of the best to play the game, and when (if) the Bears can take 20 out of 24 from the pack in my lifetime, I'm sure I'll absolutely hate that QB, too.
nice sass, packfan, however i do appreciate your admission of favre guilt, thus he has done damge to the integrity of the game(i am guessing he had friends place bets that strahan would break the sack record), and anyone who challenges integrity of game should be bannned from the game and HOF for life, after he dies put him in but not while he is alive to cherish it.

Favre IS one of the greatest. I suppose because of that people will constantly try to bring him down. It comes with the territory.
Sorry LSU, but as a BEARS fan FAGRE will never get any kind of respect from us. You understand i'm sure. We don't hate the guy, we just don't like him very much.

Once he retires and is no longer a threat, I'm sure Bears' fans will look back at Favre's years with fondness!
As much as I don't like Favre, he deserves respect. I still don't know if I would take him on my team...I don't like how much he gambles. But a fact is a fact: Favre wins games. Packer fans, enjoy this moment. You will not hear me give props to Favre during the season. There are a lot of things I really dislike about him, but that is probably because we face him two times a year.
4th I do HATE favre, becuase of who he is and how people treat him. He is addicted to drugs, admits it, and everyone loves him for being sooo honest. He admits he is an alcoholic, and everyone loves him for fighting his addictions. The league should have suspended him upon finding these things out for 4 games and then 16 games, not let him keep playing. The league also did not do anything with the strahan sack incident where he destroyed the integrity of the game, same as pete rose betting on baseball, or the white sox taking money to throw games. What i am saying is he is like rubber while others are like glue, what bounces off of him sticks to them.He should have served a 2 year suspension for giving strahan the sack, instead a big contract to keep shattering the integrity of the game.
just clarification... WAS addicted to drugs and WAS an alcoholic, and why should he have gotten treated any differently than any other player for drugs?? It's not until the 3rd offense that there's a suspension handed out...why 4 or 16 for the first offense?? So the Bears would have a better chance at winning 2 more games?? And exactly how do you or the league PROVE he gave away the sack?? Can't do it...must be horrible going through life being so bitter about ONE player causing so much grief for you. 4-20 must be really hard to swallow, I guess.
there is no such thing as WAS addicted to drugs and WAS addicted to alcohol...you are never cured of those things, you are a recovering addict the rest of your life....
Hey bears, you shouldn't be so bitter about loosing to favre every year, if he was on your team you would say he was a nice guy for "giving" away the sack, any team would love to have favre on their team (maybe a little younger favre, but still favre)
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TheBeef)</div><div class='quotemain'>there is no such thing as WAS addicted to drugs and WAS addicted to alcohol...you are never cured of those things, you are a recovering addict the rest of your life....</div> Fair enough, better choice of words would be USED to pop pills and drink a lot... As far as I know, the NFL has had no other problems with him so why does everyone else (in particular Bears and Vikings fans) keep bringing it up (not necessarily here, but in general)?
Hey now LSU, you didn't have to throw the 4-20 stat out there like that.....OUCH! That's like me bringing up the FALCONS vs. PACKERS playoff game not so long ago, you remember the one where VICK took control and FAVRE didn't have his best game, (sorry)!

We all have our touchy subjects, but a home playoff loss is bound to happen, so that one is not one of mine...
I am not saying farve should be treated differently than other but if he "was addicted" than he probably tested positive more than once for each of the problems, if he only did it once or twice he wasnt an addict. So a 4 game a 16 game suspension for the addiction and 16 game suspension for giving away the sack(i can prove it look at the tape it si beyond obvious, if he was sued in criminal court a jury of his peers would convict him) plus a lifetime ban from HOF, i do not think that is too much to ask, i will still conceed all 20 the losses to the packers as they were the better team overall, and favre was just a small piece of the win.
Does the NFL test for that type of drug?? Many players use the same drug for pain relief, so would all of them have to get suspended too?? He came out and admitted he had the problem, sought treatment and is a better man for it?? And he's still an asshole? You can look at the tape all you want, and since it's not a criminal offense, no jury of his peers will convict him. Like I said, I think he did it too, but the operative word here is "think". I don't KNOW that he did, and neither does anyone else.
what i meant is that if we were to make a decision beyond "reasonable doubt" and used a jury of 11 people to decide(who werent biased like me and you) they would examine facts and find him guilty.
