With another Sunday loss, we have now been swept by the Spurs for the regular season. Our bench and Derrick Fisher are the left and right achilles heal for our Purple & Gold. But like the saying goes there is always a silver lining in every cloud. Here's the silver lining I see. The more Fisher disappoints and makes average guards look like All-Stars, the more PT Rush and Pargo will get. I really think Pargo can be the PG of the future and can fill the void Lue left. Pargo has quicker feet than Fisher, and a more consistent jumper. Pargo can also do something Fisher is horrible out...finishing a damn layup! I went back and watched tape on the last 3 Laker games. The problem with Fisher is he doesn't know how to defend the pick and roll. Instead of running around or through the screen, he gambles on running into the screener and drawing an offensive foul. It's clearly obvious NO ref is going to make that call, and thus the shooter coming off the pick has a wide open jumpshot. Basketball is a game of confidence and rhythm. By allowing these guards to hit open jumpers, they find their rhythm and start draining shots from all over the court. They also find it easier to penetrate and dish, because once the jumper is falling, Fisher than plays to close and gets burned. Hopefully Pargo & Rush can get the practice time and game minutes to be valuable contributors in the playoffs. And if we need to make roster room, I say Slava can watch the playoffs on the IR. He's been worthless.
Spurs can only sweep em in the regular season. I say kareem rush should get a little more minute at point cuz he can score and lead a team i think la should give the rookie a lil mor time so he'll be experianced and ready to score next year.
the only team that i feel has a chance agenst the lakers are the spurs cause in my mind parker and duncun can compare a lot better to kobe and shaq than c webb and bibby can.
