the strangest thing is he didnt stop trying to score in the second half. he clearly wanted those career highs and what not. it just seemed to be a case of hot half cold half with the emphasis on HOT!!

not really...he didnt take the last 3 shots the Lakers took even when he was only 1 hoop shy of his career high...nor was he asking or demanding the ball from his teammates...and uh i think i would know better than you would seeing as i was there and all...he actually only went back into the game because the crowd kept chanting 'Kobe' and i think PJ felt pressured to put him back in the game...when he left the game towards the end of the third quarter he waved to teh crowd indicating that he was prolly done for the night with 50 in 3 quarters...

i think it was more a matter of washington sacrificing doubling shaq / guarding fisher / fox / whoever to double and triple team kobe in the second half...

still i doubt kobe will ever score 60 in a game. it doesnt seeem he has the ability to carry that kind of momentum thru a whole game if a team changes their game plan so that their goal is stopping kobe they can usually do it. he's not the toughest player to gguard in the league

if kobe's in the zone from 3 point like he was last night, you just can't stop that. MJ even said that himself. there's no time for the double team to come. and if kobe's shooting 4 feet from behind the arc, you can't expect to block that cuz he'll kill you with his quick first step.

when kobe breaks 60, it'll be because he had a magnificent combination of 3's, dribble drives, midrange jumpers and trips to the charity stripe. he'll be showing his whole repetoire.

here's some quotes from good 'ol mike

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I see similarities," said Jordan when asked about the comparisons. "He grew up watching myself and other players, but he will come into his own. You always are going to see similarities because that's the way he plays and you have someone to compare him to. But he has stepped to the forefront and he's done a great job in helping to lead this team."

"We tried to keep him on the perimeter and obviously he got hot," Jordan said. "When Kobe's hitting like that what can you do but keep him on the perimeter and hope that he gets cold."

"The match-ups were what they were," Jordan said. "We were trying to force him to drive where I would come over or where anyone would come over and double team him. But he kept shooting from the perimeter and there wasn't a chance for us to double."</div>

He can definately score 60. It's up to the coaching staff to allow him. His career high of 56 points against the Grizzlies took him only 3 quarters. But of course if he ever scores 60, you will be the first to say he's selfish, a ballhog, forcing shots, and only did it to satisfy he ego, and of course a definate fluke. olskoolFunktitude AKA, Kobe Hater #1, it's just a Catch 22 with you, no matter what Kobe does you see the negative. Why not just accept the fact Kobe is a great individual and team player? Sad, truly sad.

I think Kobe could hit 65 one day!!!

I think the second highest was MJ's carrer high of 69.
