<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Anthony may return to Syracuse Scott Pitoniak of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports: Syracuse forward and projected Top-3 pick in this year's NBA Draft Carmelo Anthony might decide to spend another year in college. During a post-game newsconference after his Orangemen advanced to the Final Four yesterday with a 63-47 victory over Oklahoma, Anthony said that he didn't want this Final Four to be his last. ?This is my first time going to the Final Four and, hopefully, not my last.? SU coach Jim Boeheim, seated one person away, chimed in, ?I?ll second that one.? Later in the locker room, Anthony told a reporter, ?Take that as a hint.? The NBA Early-Entry deadline is May 12th.</div> 'Melo's been getting a lot more attention as the tourney has carried on. Digger Phelps took the "Saturday Soapbox" segment of Sportscenter to declare that he would take Anthony, rather than James, if he were the GM of the team w/ the #1 pick. Everything seemed set for Carmelo to enter the draft after this season, then we read this. So do you think it's legit, or is it the words of a young kid who is excited about getting to the final four and made these comments on the spur of the moment without putting much thought into it?
if carmelo stays it is duke and syracuse in the final for sure, i would love to see him stay, the guy is amazing
yeah, carmelo is very good, i think he will go in the draft though. i think he'd be stupid to not go into the draft, being a top 3 pick. good luck to him and his orangeman.
If Syracuse wins the National Championship I think he will leave to go to the NBA. But if they dont win then Melo will come back next year to try to win it then leave.
Melo is fulfilling his mother's wishes by going to college. He's enjoying his experience and he's enjoying the success with his other Freshman players. The NBA isn't going anywhere and he just might stay another season and then become the #1 pick.
do u think his draft status will be affected if he has an injury? that is the only thing that i would be worried about. maybe he will take out an insurance policy like Willis McGahee?
yea it is effected. Chris Jefferies was prodected to be charity last year, then he got injured. and was drafted late first round
Carmelo better stay another year, hes not ready for the NBA, he forces too many shots. Hes a good player, but if he wants to get better, he should stay in college one more year, then he will be ready for the NBA.
Well if you are a Toronto fan, I would think you would want Melo in the draft because your team has a great shot at getting him.
