It was a nice, warm night in the ATL. Someone special was coming to town. No it was not Santa, not the toothfairy, but the one and only Michael Jordan. With the stands packed with MJ jerseys and a couple of Hawks fans (including me) the game started Atlanta's way. The stands were silent waiting for the perfect moment to get up and cheer when MJ hit a shot. That would not happen much in the first half. His Airness aried a couple of jumpers in his last game in Atlanta and in the first half, but was this going to be a disaster for Jordan? The Hawks, atone time went up by 17 points and it looked like it was the Hawks' night and later it would be (wink, wink). The Hawks without Big Dog came out and penetrated with a balenced attack from all 5 starters. JT was producing early and Reef was doing his thing and with Theo swatting shots (he had 3) and Glover dunking and driving to the basket, it looked as if the Hawks at this one in their hands. Two days after Atlanta fired GM Pete Babcock, they wanted to come out and win one for them. That 17 point lead flew away from the Hawks as Jerry Stackhouse came down court, dunked and got fouled by Dion Glover and all of the sudden, Atlanta was up by only 3. They would go to the half with a 7 point lead. The third quarter was all Atlanta's as Theo Ratliff, Reef, and JT took the offense in their hands and took it to a Wizards team that's playoffs hopes are almost blown away. Shareef had a dunk, Theo had 2 jams, and JT was knocking down threes and at the end of the 3rd the Hawks had a nice lead. The 4th brought the real excitment. A Michael Jordan who was having a terrible night was unstoppable in the 4th. I remember when he nailed the jay on Steve Smith vs the Hawks in 1995. Would he do it again. At the start of the 4th the Wizards started heating up and with 8 minutes to go MJ took over. He started off with a fadeaway over Newble and the Hawks lead was 5. Then, JT answered back with a two of his own. MJ came back and hit a jumper where he crossed up both Glover and Newble. Again, Atlanta would answer with Theo Ratliff. MJ scored another fadeaway and the crowd was on there feet and yelling so loud you could not hear the couches one bit. Atlanta missed and MJ came back and yet again made it and the game was tied at 86. Two free throws by Reef put the Hawks up by 2. MJ came down and dished it to former Hawk Christian L8ner and he hit a jumper. tied at 89. MJ came back down with 8 seconds left and wasted 7 seconds. Will he do it again?......no! We are going to overtime....wait no there is .6 seocnds left. Timeout Atlanta. While in the huddle the Hawks team was told to get the ball to Shareef Abdur-Rahim. While Atlanta was being booed at home (I was cheering for them) Reef said. "Lets do this." Here we go. .6 seconds left. Alan Henderson throws the call in and almost threw it out of bounds but Reef catches it and throws it up over MJ......(sound of wind).......bounce.......bounce........SWISH! Hawks win! Hawks win! Hawks win! As hawks commentor Steve Holman says "Good bye Wizards fans and thanks for spending your money at Philips arena becuase you are now out of the playoffs." Instead of MJ being the one winning with the final shot.....he was shot on by Reef! O was I happy. GO HAWKS!
That shot was absolutely no skill at all. He had no form onthe shot at all. All he did was catch teh ball throw it in the air in the direction of the basket and luckily for him it went in. Now that is what you calls, "shooters touch"

lets see u put up the game winning shot over MJ with .6 seconds left.......even if it was a fluke its still a clutch shot

I consider that a throw. He didnt even have a form shot he just caught it and threw it up. He wasnt even in a proper form at all. Lucky "throw" for the Hawks and MJ must have been ticked.
Yea, but Reef isnt clutch, so he cant make a clutch shot. He missed a wide open lay up, and a wide open jump shot against Toronto. Why woud the team say ''Lets give it to reef'' or whatever, i would of wasnted the ball to go to JT. LUUUCK
The shot went in LOL! Was not luck it went in because Reef is good. No "Luck". He got a good shot off.
it was a great shot, give the man credit. shooting over mj was amazing. just because mj didn't get that last shot, don't get pissed and saying that reef sucks and stuff like that.
