thats such an extreme minority tho. you guys are missing the main point that MOST people in the NBA have mad skillz some don treally and are only there cause of there size which almost EVERYONE in the NBA has. its a strong minoriety of people who are so skilled they can make it being 6'3'' and under

learn the fundamentals of basketball. develop a go to move and a solid mid range jumper. go the basketball camps and listen to the coaches. you need confidence, you need people hyping you up so you get noticed, you need personality, you need to strong physically and mentally. practice ALL the time and dedicate all your free time to improving your skills. learn to move without the ball and watch a lot of film so you can anticipate plays before they happen. all the great players have great anticipation, they can see a play 3 moves in advance and get to the spot before the other player does. workout using ballistic training and run a lot. you need stamina and strong legs to last an entire game. one of wilt chamberlain's greatest assets was being able to run up and down the court and wear down the other big men in the league. develop great foot work like hakeem by playing soccer at a young age. a big part of making it in the NBA is knowing the right people. find out who those people are and try to get into their circle of friends.

Look at me... We have 6th 7th and 8th graders in my school. I've been playing all my life. I'm the best kid in the school and I am in 7th grade. Our school is short. I am only 5'3. But ya know I just turned 13. Tell me what you think...

    Shape, great points.

Size isnt only being tall, its your muscle aswell. yea, muggsy was short, but he obviously was strong. same goes with AI, his size makes him quick as lightening.

yeah...my brother got skillz (his name is Phat...yeah, that's right--Phat)...he's 13...turning 14 this year...he's 5'4''...and I can tell he just started his growth spurt (because I was like 5'4'' when I was in 7th grade too...and now I'm 5'7''...I'm a freshman in HS now...)...he has the jump shooter, he can be a center...a power foward...a shootingguard, a point guard...whatever he tries, he "conquers". I'm not saying he's the best ever for being the age he is--I'm just saying he has the knowledge and determination...well, he has confidence...but doesn't go overboard (except when he thinks he can beat me at everything--including singing--which he cannot!).

At 5'4 he can play center? at 5'8 i play all but C....as he gets older he'll have to play where he's strong at which will most likely be PG

To make it to the NBA you need heart and determination. Speed can make up for size and shooting hides alot of your weaknesses. If you can shoot you can play the game. I would also recommend 6-4 and above but the two main things are heart and determination.

Yeah, I'm not so sure if he wants to be a center...(his options are wide though...he's favoring for Shooting Guard...haha, like my man, Ray Allen.) His favorite player is Kobe Bryant though (like Kobe he sometimes can be arrogant.)

I'm pretty quick and I'm a good jumper. My shot is nice, but I just don't shoot enough in games... Unless I'm screwin around.
