kobe defence is not as good as the media thinks..but he is still good at it...NBA all defensive first team means you can play a little D
artest plays SF..so basically KG took artest spot..not kobe..but the fact artest was suspended for like 15 games it was no surprise they didn't vote him in
Kobe has always been an overrated defender IMO. Dont get me wrong, he is a good defender, but nothing out of this world like some people make it to be..

kobe plays really good defense...and as big of a Kobe fan that i am...(if you don't know by now...i don't know where the hell you have been)...i don't really think that he should have been a first team selection...maybe a second team selection...but his team D is what gets him his praise, he plays D well with his teammates, but there are people who are (maybe not better but more focused) on there one on one assignments than kobe...but still can't deny his defensive abilities...and screw bowen man...if he's gonna shoot 7/8 from 3pt range wutever...you let bowen beat you with 27 points while holding duncan to 12...thats a good tradeoff i think cuz bowen will never bring it like that again...

Defenders to what they need to do to destroy the offense. so kobe does have good defense if he does that.
kobe has good defense, don't get me wrong, but he shouldn't have been 1st team defense. he's overrated on defense. i've said this many times before, he has shaq, so that means noone is going to drive on kobe to get swatted by shaq, and if defenders make them shoot jumpers then they look like a better defender, because they don't even go in half the time.
I just want to know who should have made it over Kobe? McGrady and Pierce's defensive level are just about the same as Kobe. Ron Artest was considered a forward for the balloting in this. Maybe you guys want some defensive specialst who does nothing but concentrate on defense and not offense, but how good would Kobe's/McGrady's/Pierces D be if that's all they concentrated on. Well I guess that part really doesn't matter since I don't think the voters consider hypotheticals. So what defensive guard would/should take Kobe's spot?
