You must be joking. Even though you're not, COME ON. The Mavs are going to beat the Lakers/Spurs, both teams with strong inside presences? The Mavs do not have what it takes mentally to beat the Lakers. I could see them beating the Spurs, but wait... we all know that the Lakers are going to beat the Spurs anyways.

Kings are gonna have a long and hard road getting past the Mavs without Webber. I think since Webber is gone the Spurs got the championship on lockdown.

interesting concept...the mavs are friggin on fire lately though so i won't contest it...they have a good shot at running through the conference if they can keep up this play...one of the big things to keep in mind though, is that Dallas is a team that relies on taking and making a lot of shots...Sacramento would fair much better against Dallas not getting into a shootout where teams are taking 100 shots in a game (Dallas took 99 and 110 in games 2 and 3 respectively when they won, and even got 98 in game 1 when they lost cuz the kings shot 55%)...i dont see a team like the spurs or the lakers allowing the tempo of the game to reach that level for the Mavs and I think that that will hurt them in a best of 7 series vs either one of the teams that will advance to meet them assuming they can beat the Kings... but they definitely have a good chance...to me, the way the games are going in the West, the West is as much up for grabs as the East is now...with injuries and players just stepping up and playing out of their mind (read: nick van exel)...

I totally agree. Since its comming down to it between the Mavs and Kings I have to go with the Mavs, I realized this when they almost were on the verge of being on the back end of the only team to be up 3 -0 then LOOSE! [yes i still woulda cheered for them] when they pulled thru like that, thats who Im going for. I still DO love the Kings, but I really do want the Mavericks to win this series, and move on to the WCF and face who ever wins between LA and SA

Ok.. now about this topic.. let me brake it down..

IF Dallas beats the Kings and move on to the WCF, I think that they have a really high chance of going all the way. For the simple reason that the Spurs/Lakers doesn't have enough offense to keep up with them, specially when they go on their hot shooting streak. And we all know no matter how good your defense is, if they are hot, they will make them 3's.

You see the way Nash and Van Exel have been playing? Who would stop them from scoring? Fisher/Parker? I dont think so. Dirk has been playing great all playoffs long, and as good as a defender Duncan is, I dont think he would stop him from scoring 30 or more. He would light up Horry for even more than that. and one more thing, You think that the Lakers or the Spurs would be able to run with the Mavericks?

Lakers would destroy the Mavs inside. But their role players aren't that consistent, and you are not going to beat the Mavs by scoring 99.

Spurs would dominate the Mavs inside, but not as good as the Lakers. They have the same problem as the Lakers, their role players arent consistent. AND I think the Lakers will lose against the Spurs, meaning it would be Spurs and Mavs going at it in the WCF. Meaning Mavs would beat them in 6 or 7 games, Meaning they would destroy the East team in 4, meaning they will be the champs. But then again, that will happen IF Dallas beats the Kings, and IF the Spurs beats the Lakers.

I know you guys dont like the Mavs for some reason. But hey, you gotta admit, they do have a chance.

Hopefully my Kings will beat them though. [IMG]

they do have a chance...but the Lakers AND the Spurs are MUCH BETTER at dictating tempos of games so they would be able to slow down the Mavs run and gun especially by working through set offenses etc...I just don't see the Mavs being able to 'run by' either the Lakers or the Spurs and the Kings put out a nice showing tonite

Dallas won't win the championship....who is going to stop shaq if lakers make it? i like dallas but unless they shoot 60% rom the floor basically the whole series they will unlikely win..if they face spurs they have a better chance but still unlikely.

    Can I call him,"Big Thang"??? 8)

    lol, j/p.

hmmm...I think that although the Mavs sometimes have a sloppy defense, they'll work on it eventually, and kick the Kings & the Spurs (if not Lakers) butts out of the playoffs....

Sure. Well i can say Dirk makes up for his "D"efense with another D.. errr that one was too easy too [IMG]. Well if the Mavs loose, Ill cry, If the Kings loose Ill cry, but yet ill be happy since one advanced but I want the Mavs to go more. I think the Mavs can get Duncan in early foul trouble hell if they dont theyll loose. Why am I not worried about LA for some reason Im not.. I just have to say, who ever wins this series is going to win it all. [IMG]

The thing dallas have against kings is that sac-town defence isn't that good so playing them dallas don't have to worry about kings great defence hurting them..but don't expect that against lakers or spurs..both L.A and SA are both great defensive teams..lakers would contain mavs offence so would spurs..

I just have a question who will the Lakers/Spurs get to stop(if the mavs beat the kings)

    Dirk
    Van Exel
    Nash
    Finley(if he gets hot)
Najera's Atletisim to get good rebounds
