<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It?s becoming more and more clear that Michael Jordan?s two year comeback was not a good idea. If you combine the things that we did know, like his teammates not liking him and not being a good GM, with the things that are now coming out?it?s becoming very clear. According to Sports Illustrated magazine, Michael Jordan would call Kwame Brown, HIS #1 pick overall? ?A flaming faggot?. That?s S.I. quoting a Washington Post article where allegedly Jordan would consistently deride former #1 pick Kwame Brown and reduced him to tears on a number of occasions. I?m not saying Jordan shouldn?t be hard on the guy. I?m not saying don?t be tough on him, but don?t try to break him. The last thing he needs is the greatest player of all time and his idol calling him derogatory names and reducing him to tears in front of his teammates. What?s the point in that? Remember, he?s just 19. Yes, he?s the #1 pick, making a lot of money and harsh treatment is not an unreasonable idea?but that was wrong. You don?t need to call into question a guy?s sexual preference in order to motivate him. Obviously it didn?t work either. You do need to know who you?re dealing with. Not all guys respond to a kick in the teeth or a punch in the gut. Kwame is one of those guys. He needs to be motivated some other way. Him coming back is turning out to be a bad idea altogether. There was friction in the front office, he made his coach look like a puppet and made some questionable moves. Aside from the sellouts, the Jordan years were a failure. They are not better as a team, or an organization. All of this could have been avoided if Jordan doesn?t come back. And now this. If anything, it paints a clearer picture as to why the organization might not have wanted him back. http://jimrome.com/home/article/article_1.html</div> dunno how much of this is true but DAMN.... i admired MJ when he was with the bulls...i remember running to the gym and trying to imitate jordan's moves and all...but i never did like his 2nd comeback... a lot of people say that great players make their teammates better...if this is true and MJ really did bring down Kwame like that...i really question jordan's comeback.
as great a player he is, MJs problem is his own career has resulted in astronomically high standards, and that's a recipe for disaster with a young team such as the wizards....the thing i find ironic is most of the guys he berates were actually handpicked by himself in the time he was in charge of basketball operations we all loved seeing him again, but i think its probly clear that it wasn't the best option for both him and the wizards that he came back - he's sacrificed a valuable year of progress for a playoff run that didn't even succeed
Since I was a little kid, I've always thought of MJ the best basketball player, too...and of course like everyone I was thrilled he came back for the last ride..but I am unsure that it even helped out the Wizards, because they didn't work as a team--it was Michael and the Wizards...they didn't really shine...at least not in my point of view...
MJ great player..best of all time but he is the last guy you want to coach you..he is an ass to put it nicely..and word around some of the NBA players he threats to hit his team-mates if they don't do certain things for him..in practise and off the court...i was told this by steph jackson when he said that he was told by other players that mike did this when he didn't get what he wanted..when MJ is in control of a franchise like he was at wizards these are the kind of things he has done.
are you fugging serious? He threatened to hit them? What an @$$hole! He has a wife and kids, too...what the hell was he thinking? (Well, he was nice to the coach, Doug Collins at least....Doug Collin said, "When the guys swore and cussed at me, Michael said, "Guys, we don't respect our COACH like that...") So I don't know...some people have mutliple personalities that contradicts one another....From what you're saying, it sounds like he's a thug (which he's appearingly not...), but if it's true...man...that is NOT cool.
It seems to me he got too emotional with the situation at the wizards..he never did or made threats at the bulls..why you ask? because they were WINNING..wizards missed the playoffs and lost alot of games..the pressure of losing which mike wasn't used to must of got to him...and he might of said and threaten players when he shouldn't of..he is nice to fans and helps out family and all...but when it comes to coaching basketball and the wizards he seems to go over the top.
I'm not surprised...all players get in the moment and lash out....i'm sure MJ has hit a teammate on the wizards before...
I wrote something, but AOL disconnected on me... I said... I've never hit my teammates before in situations that were bad...to me, it's morally wrong (to me). The worst I've done in the most worst situations were to swear under my breath, "Holy fugg...how could we do this badly?" or "Oh my god...we suck." And when I'm going through a mental breakdown I've trickled down tears before...but never have I lashed out at a teammate. There's no reason to just smack someone for something that your effort/the moment wasn't there... 'nough said...
not saying its right, but c'mon, who on here hasn't wanted to hit will perdue after watching him play???
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "anadagirlballer4strt":</div><div class="quote_post">...who the hell is Perdue?! He's probably a bench person or something, because I don't remember him.</div> yeah just a bench scrub in the mould of chris dudley and joe kleine. retired now tho methinks
