After this season with Tracy Mcgrady dragging the Magic into the playoffs and Kobe being unable to do the same without Shaq, I was ready to call it even in the Mcgrady vs Kobe debate. However, Bill Simmons' brings up a very good point in his latest article that convinced me that T-Mac is not quite at Kobe's level yet "...to Tracy McGrady; he wasn't quite ready for his "MJ against the Cavs in '88" series. More importantly, I think he drops a notch behind Kobe again. Kobe comes up big when it matters. In the last three games of that Pistons series, you couldn't say the same about T-Mac. I'll admit it ... I'm disappointed." I know this topic is an endless debate, but its fun right?.....right?
Kobe comes up big when it matters...well not today. But as for T-Mac he had them 3-1 but his team didn't play well when they were ahead by 3-1. It's almost impossible to say who's better but T-Mac fans say 3-12 louder than the Arco Arena crowd. T-Mac leads his team to the playoffs but until they can get out of the first round he wont get respect from neutrals and some of the media. Kobe gets it cos they win 3 in a row. I'd say T-Macs better but I'm bound to say that cos I'm a big TMac fan and I dont exaclty like Kobe.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "vinsanity03":</div><div class="quote_post">Kobes better. Tmac cant rebound well for his height. My opinions.</div> Kobe averages 6.9 boards and TMac 6.5 so in my opinion i think TMac rebounds pretty good especially for a 2 guard and Kobe and TMac are both the same height, if Tmac cant rebound well for his height then what do u think about VC? he is an even worse rebounder i think TMac is the better player but Kobe is more clutch than TMac
kobe....he gets more assists...boards...and bettr in the cluth...he also learned to play wit another superstar

Kobe 6'6-6'7 Vince 6'6. Why did you even bring up VC? Tmacv is 6'8 the same as elton brand and hes a shitty rebounder. My opinion. I think hes shitty rebounder. too bad.
i think kobe is better because he learned to play better with someone else on his team, stupid tmac wanted all the fame he could get, and thats the reason why he left TO.

tmac's way better than kobe in almost everything, the only reason kobe gets more recognition is that he has won 3 championships and is clutch. if tmac was clutch and won some games than he would be better than kobe.(now that lakers are out, and won't win championship #4) tmac isn't clutch though, that's the only problem in his game. points, tmac's better, the reason why kobe is up there is he stat stuffs his points. tmac shoots when the team needs him to shoot, while kobe has to get his points, no matter if the team needs him to or not. ADVANTAGE = TMAC he's a good rebounder, since on defense he's always guarding the 3 point line and on offense he's shooting all the jumpers, so there really isn't many opportunities for him to get rebounds. ADVANTAGE= kobe assists, kobe has more, but how the hell don't you get at least 10 a game when you have shaq on your team. all you have to do is give him the ball and there is an assist. ADVANTAGE- tmac defense, kobe is overrated. he's good, but who wants to shoot a layup when shaq is gonna swat your shit. i know i wouldn't. tmac is good, but he just isn't at kobe's level yet, even though kobe has shaq. ADVANTAGE=kobe shooting- no contest. tmac's the much better shooter ADVANTAGE= TMAC clutch- no contest. ADVANTAGE= KOBE that's my opinion guys. tmac is better, kobe is overrated(great, but not as great as espn makes him sound)

Tracy being 2 inches taller should give him the edge in rebounding, especially with his length and jumping ability. Also, I'd be willing to bet that if Timmy D, KG, Dirk, etc. concentrated on rebounding and defense ALONE then they would put up numbers as good or better than Ben Wallace, but unlike Ben they actually know how to do stuff on the offensive end which makes then expend more energy on different facets of the game.

How is that stat stuffing? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">he's a good rebounder, since on defense he's always guarding the 3 point line and on offense he's shooting all the jumpers, so there really isn't many opportunities for him to get rebounds. If anything, like I said earlier, Tracy should get more boards because he is taller, longer, and jumps just about as high. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">assists, kobe has more, but how the hell don't you get at least 10 a game when you have shaq on your team. all you have to do is give him the ball and there is an assist. ADVANTAGE=kobe </div> Defense is the closest facet of the game between both of them, besides overall game. I'd give a slight edge to Kobe, but you an call it a draw. Yes, Tracy is a better shooter and Kobe is more clutch. Things aren't as lopsided as you made it seem to be.
