<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">MARTIN: NETS CAN WIN IT By MARC BERMAN -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 16, 2003 -- Not only has Kenyon Martin been the best Net in these playoffs, he's also the most confident. The past few days, the Nets have been talking about not just winning another Eastern title, but the whole shebang, despite the West's supremacy. "We feel we can play with anybody now," said Martin, the Nets' playoff MVP so far, averaging 21.6 points on 50 percent shooting, and 9.3 rebounds. "We have a chance. If we keep playing the way we're playing, we'll have a great chance. [People] look at us as a West Coast team in the Eastern Conference, the way we get up and down the court." The Pistons or Sixers should present a tougher test because they are more rugged in the interior than the Bucks or Celtics. So Martin finally will get challenged after battering Milwaukee and embarrassing Boston's Antoine Walker. "We can play like that, too," said Martin, who may have to deal with Detroit's Ben Wallace in the next round. "So it doesn't matter. They want to bang, we can bang. "They want to go out on the perimeter, we can do that." </div> i smell the kind of swagger the lakers had in the past years
they can't play with anybody...the swept the Celtics and struggled with the Bucks..The Bucks average age has gotta be 40....
^^ im glad someone noticed he ticks alot......last year was alot worse he used to tick in the game but now its only off the court, i guess basketball is his release from the ticking

The Nets have never won a title. they've had a losing record in 18 out of 26 years. two decent seasons doesn't change a franchise especially when the fans still don't care. Kenyon Martin isnt the kind of player youd find on a championhip team. he just says dumb things like this to amke hiself seem more significant than he really is.
nets i think have a better chance against the spurs than the mavs, but i still think that they will lose in 5 in the finals to whoever they play.
theyll be swept either way. and this is assuming they even get to the finals which might be a pretty big assumption
I think if spurs make the finals..either pistons or nets can get 2 games...the team that comes out of the east won't get swept
I think if the spurs or mavs make the finals...either pistons or nets cant get a game unless theres a mental letdown by the superior western teams...the team that comes out of the east will get swept
Trust me if spurs make the finals..the east team will get at least one game..nets match-up very well with the spurs...
trust me....they won't. no team matches up well with any western superteam. theyre just waaay too much better. The nets matched up better with the Lakers than the Spurs. the spurs are deeper and more talented and balanced. Tim Duncan will make Kenyon Martin a complete non factor and Tony Parker will at least match Jason Kidds energy and speed
I'm a spurs fan along with a pistons fan..grew up watching the spurs...and spurs have problems with the nets..duncan will have to do alot more on defence against martin than he did against L.A..martin can score..rebound play great defence...duncan will of course dominate..but he will be given some trouble..kidd will do his thing and parker will have his work cut out...the kittles, harris,RJ v jackson, bowen,MANU will be a close battle...all good players that can put up numbers and can shoot the ball...but of course i hope it comes down to pistons v spurs in the finals instead

Once the offense slows down, with a big body like duncan on kenyon jason kidd wont be able to make all his baskets for him as he usually does. The Spurs AND Mavs are both too talented to lose a game to the likes of the pistons and nets. harris and them are ok but the Spurs and Mavs are absolute juggernauts
How am i overrated martin? all i said is he can score, rebound and is a great defender..which is all true.....spurs play the same kind of way the pistons do....i watch spurs ALOT..and they can and likely will lose 1 game to Detroit..it will likely be in detroit..nets match-up very well with the spurs..and thats a fact....but if spurs don't make it...dallas will likely sweep because of the way they play and the way they can shoot the ball better...
everyone on the spurs can shoot though. a few people on detroit can shoot. a few people on the nets can shoot. martin and jef can hit shots when theyre wide open but u cant depen on them. Martin is a ood defender but hes toast to a guy like duncan and with duncan gaurding him he wont hit anythig
