I guess all I'm saying is that in my lifetime there's been more passing records set and broke and set and broke than I can even remember. They just don't last because they always change the rules to increase offense. The question was "What is the toughest stat to achive?" I still say nobody's stat record will last as long as Lane's single season INT record because his IS the "toughest stat to achive".
And to that, I totally agree. And I don't see the league changing their pattern until a 1-0 soccer match becomes more popular in this country.
i have to agree with the INT being the toughest stat to achieve...to forcibly make yourself the target, when you definitely are not the target, without interfering with the receiver takes timing, skill, awareness, and luck...and don't get me started on the ability to watch your man, then turn around, and in a fraction of a second, find the ball and get your hands up to catch it
I also think the number of consecutive games with a passing TD, which I believe is owned by Johnny Unitas at somewhere near 40, is also a tough stat to beat.
like i said 10+ INTS will be the toughest stat to achieve. most of u said NT lanes record of 14 will be the tough, i say just 10 is. who do u think will break it the soonest if any1 does?
Well brian kelly had like 9 two years ago so 10 will be acheived by someone but it will be a corner that has a top 5 corner on the other side of the field or like you said before Dawk Ed Reed will do it. he is nuts and will jump any ball thrown it seems.
48 TDs is going to be tough. Unitas's 40 game with a TD pass streak hasn't even come close to being broken. I also can't remember the last time (or how many times) a player's gotten 1000 yards rushing and 1000 yards receiving in the same year. Charlie Garner and LaDanian Tomlinson have both come close recently, but it's not a very common thing. Certainly I'd consider it "tough to do."

Faulk did it in 1999 rushing for 1381 yards and having 1048 receiving. He also had 21 TD's that year. Garner had 962 and 941 with 15 TD's. He was one of the closest. Tomlinson only had 725 receiving last year... even though he amassed 100 receptions.
yea i thought so, i rember Tiki barber came close to it 2 years ago, i think he had 1300 Rush yards and 8oo REc yards to? anyway LT might be the next person to do it. another dark horse is ahman green.
There have only been two to get 1000 yards rushing and recieving. Roger Craig and Marshal Faulk. Thats pretty nice company.
I thought Thurman Thomas made the 1000/1000 club? He was pretty darn close every year. I wasn't a big fan of his, but the guy had the talent.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BearsFan1)</div><div class='quotemain'>i think a 1000/1000 will be broke 100 times in next ten years</div> what running backs have that ability, AND the touches to do it? i can think of maybe 3. LT Ahman Green Priest Holmes
agreed bennet could be great if he could stay healthy long enough to put together full season of starting, who is supposed to start for the vikings next year at RB
i just think the way teams are looking at a back as a viable pass catcher it will become common practice. Tomlison will do it] bennett faulk might do it again. portis will become a guy like that mcgahee will do it ricky williams will do it edgerrin james will do it dominic davis will do it tiki may do it this year since eli will be using safe passes. duece mcallister will do it. 100 times may be too much but it will certainly be attained a lot. it is a good accoplishment but wont be so special after a while.
