    Look at the match-ups

    PF Parker v Kidd-nets
    SG Jackson v Kittles-spurs
    SF Bowen v Jefferson-Nets
    PF Duncan v Martin-spurs
    Robinson v Collins/deke-Nets

spurs may well have a better bench......martin is a much better defender than what TD has seen so far..and martin has more offence/better post game than duncan has had to guard so far..

It will all comedown to the spurs role players hitting their shots

doesn't mean much but nets have won 3 out of the last 4 meetings betwen the teams

Way before the playoffs started, I predicted that whoever came out of the West would win it all. I say the Spurs are going to beat Dallas (it's gonna be easier now without Dirk) then they'll take the Nets in 5. Spurs might give up a game in New Jersey, so I don't want to predict a sweep. There's no way the Nets can contain Timmy, and Tony can run with the Nets fast break.

I didn't think Deke was too old. He's still got some in him. He should have gotten some playing time. :?

nets will win the finals this year. i also thought the winner from the west would take the finals, but i assumed it would be the lakers, or at the least the kings. the spurs are playing great, but they struggled against the suns in the first round. i think the nets are similar team to the suns. they have an athletic team that loves to get out and run the fastbreak. stephon marbury completely took the spurs out of their game, and i expect jason kidd to have the same type of dominating performance over tony parker. the nets have shown they can win playing in a slow tempo game as they did in the first two piston games. and they showed when they play their uptempo style teams simply can't compete. the nets are going to watch a lot of tape on how the suns gave the spurs matchup problems and take advantage of it. kidd-jefferson-martin are very similar to marbury-marion-stoudamire. and the nets are a better defensive unit and have a deep bench. last year they were new to the finals and so they were trounced early on, but once the team settled down they actually played pretty well against the lakers. i think the young backcourt of gino and parker will be overwhelmed by the experience and intesity of the finals and their lack of experience will catch up to them and be their downfall.

it's not over yet! great win by the mavs. once again the winning formula to beat the spurs is small ball. the suns beat them when they played small ball, the lakers beat them when they benched shaq and played small ball, and today the mavs beat the spurs playing small ball. the spurs looked very tired today and popovich was completely out coached by don nelson. popovich did not do the proper rotations to keep his team fresh, and the mavs took complete advantage in the 2nd half.

i hope nowitzki can play the next game and push this series to 7 games and possibly win it. the spurs looked shook tonight, no one stepped up to shoot down the stretch, only ten 4th quarter points.

*more rest time & preparation for the nets*

again. the nets will not beat either the spurs or mavs. shape, you gotta stop with this. its one thing to argue the nets have a chance, but to ASSUME theyre going to upset the superior spurs. thats NUTS!!
KMart will be dominated by nowizki or duncan
RJef will be dominatged by whoever is put on them
kidd cant do it all himself
shape sounds like hes trying to convince himself more than the rest of us. Is it really working shape?? is that still u in there? just goes to show the power of the human brain. u can convince yourself anything

yeah i like to think positive and also a lot of underdogs have been coming through the past few years in championship games.

baseball there was the angels, hockey this year we have the ducks, football the patriots pulled off a huge upset win, so why not the nets? they played well against the western conference all season long.

because the Nets are not a championship caliber team. theres so much more paroty in those other sports. the west is os much better than the east and the best team always wins in a 7 game series.
the best teams are the mavs and spurs. they won 60 games each in a division with eachother and minnesota. New Jersey won 49 games which was the most in their division. The Nets were swept by the Lakers, the Spurs BEAT the Lakers. i admire your optimism and im trying to look at this both way butb the nets are just inferior

theoretically the best team wins in a 7 game series. however an injury can change things, lack of preparation, lack of focus, lack of conditioning, there are a lot of variables that can happen to cause an upset. the nets have more experience in the finals than the spurs and they have a huge edge with the time off. the spurs looked very tired to night and they are going to be pushed to the limits in dallas. everyone thought ito, knicks235, and myself were nuts saying the nets would destroy the pistons, and they exceeded everyone's expectations with a sweep. the spurs get rattled very easily in these big games and if the nets can steal the first 2 games, the spurs are going to start doubting their abilities and find themselves in a 3-0 hole.

not really. the spurs were in the finals a few years ago and won. no one on the nets has shown the ability to win in the finals. and they are even more easy to rattle than the spurs as is apparent by their sweep in the finals last year and their subpar second half in the regular season this year. they just havent faced any real challenges in the playoffs yet. theres a reason the spurs are "struggling" theyre playing a pretty incredible dallas team. they wont struggle against the nets. soft minded younger players like kmart and rjef will fold as soon as SA takes the quick 2 nothing seriees lead at home. they might get injured too. san antoinio will. as soon as the spurs take care of their homecourt the nets will give up and get ready for summer ecxept for kidd. even if the series is close the nets will tire of trying to keep up with the superior spurs
