dude in the NFC East it would be u, me, cowboys and giants. that would suck because we would have to share eagles players and i want my whole roster to be eagles.

Yes, but even if we are not in the same division, but the same conference both of us will try to get Eagles players. It's not like we are going to have eight 4-team drafts, there will be two 16-team drafts. Or am I missing something here.

I think it would be a good idea to have everyone confirm a few weeks in advance that they really want to be in the league. Otherwise we will have a lot of people who forget.

I think I have a pretty open mind to all of the ideas that have been brought up. I actually think that they are some very good ideas. I certainly have issues though with every system.

    1. Real Geography - This has very little merit in my opinion. It sounds good initially, but I'm not so sure that this won't put us basically in the same place that the other system would.

    2. Fan Affiliation - The problem is the lack of fan affiliation we have in the AFC South and NFC West. It also pits fans of the same team against each other and I see now that the DWO have issue with having to play each other within a division.

    3. Randomly - This has become the fan favorite, but ultimately I don't think this will build good rivalries.

    4. Other - Some of the other ideas have been good as well. The put the 8 playoff teams in seperate divisions idea was decent, but what is the significance of that? I mean we're going from 14 teams to 32. 4 of those teams in each conference means that they will never play the other 4 teams except in a Super Bowl. I can't imagine Thebeef & BA never playing each other... or Dolfan Dale and kcgsc never playing each other... so a little more thought needs to go into this process. (IMO)

how about putting last years league in one conference...that keeps those rivalries that we started last season together...fill it up with guys that are good friends of several of us to enhance those rivalries...the other conference then develops rivalries of its own for future seasons...

Hey, whatever works. In the end it doesn't really matter. If we go in with eyes wide shut as if going into marriage, we expect things to go on for ever. After a couple of years, the rivalries will develop. Does everything have to happen tomorrow? Christ.

What's the matter Chip? I can't believe you're losing it and it's only May... This thread is only here to create discussion and possibly new ideas on how to set this up the best possible way. Changes may take place from now until August, but we might as well get some ideas now...

Does everything have to happen tomorrow? Of course not... but we might as well hash it out. It's not exactly the easiest thing in the world to organize 32 internet strangers....

I live both in michigan and fl unfortantly i been in michigan about 90 percent of the time in the last 2 years. I do get down to tampa tho during the football season, where we have a condo in sarasota. I voted

All I'm saying is that it's not tha big of a deal. And if you think I'm losing it in May, wait until August.

It's obvious from last year that someone will havea bitch about something no matter how it is aligned (and you are increasing the size of the league by a couple of teams). [IMG] Leagues that last for more than a couple of years are few and far between. I am fortunate to be involved in a league that was formed in 1988, but I have also been involved in nearly a dozen other ones that no longer exist (present company excluded).

You want a new idea? How about squaring everyones ages and then multiplying by the inverse square of the age of their car and then adding that to the age of their sneaker in dog's years... Wait, that won't work. Not everybody has sneakers...

Here's my "suggestion." Take the list you used when everyone signed up and maintain those numbers as a reference point. Sign up #1 goes in Division 1, 2 in 2, etc. At nine, start over at division 1 and so on. That means that the early people (those who pay attention) are not all together, and the late sign ups (including new comers) are spread around. Middle of the roaders (like myself) are also evenly spaced. I think that this offers the best chance of avoiding divisional bailout as the season progresses. But why listen to me? I'm a RAIDER fan afterall.

Boy, see what happens when I go away for a week or so... One shot and one compliment. I should blow up my hard drive more often. Pats, thanks for the laugh. KC, please avoid my dangling carrot when possible.
