<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Imagine Dirk Nowitzki and Karl Malone playing beside each other. It just might happen. Malone told The Dallas Morning News the Mavericks are one of the leading contenders for his services next season. The free-agent forward, who has spent his 18-year NBA career with the Utah Jazz, is considering joining another team in an attempt to make a last run at a championship. "(The Mavericks) definitely are high on the list," Malone said. "And I don't have a very long list, either." Malone, one of the most durable players in NBA history, has said he would like to play two more seasons. He turns 40 in July. He has 36,374 points in his career, and needs 2,014 to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the all-time leading scorer. The Mavericks could also use Malone's no-nonsense approach and toughness inside. "Playing 18 years, it's still fun," he said. "I'm still competitive and I still hate to lose. That's my attitude, and I don't think that will ever change." </div> Very interesting...
i would love to see him almost anywhere but LA, i dont know how much scoring he could do in Dallas though, it would be hard for him to break the record with all those other good scorers around him.
dallas would be the best place for him c-raef pf-malone sf-dirk sg-finely pg-nash thats a crazy line up.
I thik he is too desperate for a ring. If he wants aring I would personally go to San Antonio but thats just me.

He wants a little bit of both, a ring, and the scoring average. I would personally just go for the scoring average, why get the ring the cheap way? He has a great legacy but when people are to talk about him they will always mention the cheap way he got the ring.
Ask malone and he will tell you..the scoring title will mean nothing without a ring..it's what the players play for..getting a championship ring..
malone had his chance to get a ring. who do you think had the ball after Jordan made The Shot? Malone can't have both the scoring title and a ring.. he's gotta chose. I'd hate to see him with the Mavs.. i just wish he'd retire.
If he plays two more seasonsn he's got to choose, scoring title or ring, the scoring title he'll get in Utah as he'll be to go to guy but in Dallas,LA or San Antonio he wont be the go to guy but will give the team enough for a ring. It's his choice and I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign a one year with Utah then go to a championship team.
I wonder what the other teams on his list are. Imagine if the Spurs got him - C - Duncan PF - Malone SF - Bowen/Jackson/FA SG - Ginobili PG - Kidd/Parker Their only weakness is at SF, which if they got Kidd then they could package Parker and Bowen or Jackson for a good SF like Mike Miller. Then their lineup would look like - C - Duncan PF - Malone SF - Miller/Bowen SG - Ginobili PG - Kidd
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "allnet":</div><div class="quote_post">spurs are NOT getting kidd..spurs are a team on malone's list...thats a fact.</div> thank you, someone understands kidd isn't going to SA.
I dunno where malone will end up. I dont think he will go to the Lakers because I dont think he likes shaq or kobe. And in Dallas he wants to pass the all-time scoring record but will he get the ball enough times there? I think malone would pass the scoring record a lot faster if he signs with an eastern conference team because then he wont have to play against the great power forwards in the west as much.
