The arena is old news. It will be the FedEx Forum and it will be a mix of Dallas and Indiana's arenas. It will be the biggest and and most state of the art arena in the NBA. They started building it a year and a half ago. It is coming along nicely. For those of you who know Memphis, it will be right off of Beal Street behind the Hard Rock Cafe, and they will have on-site parking.

The Uniforms, Logo, and Color are all new news to me. The name will stay however. I am thinking that their colors will be Purple and Orange, like FedEx.

Purple is FeEx's main color, but their other color varies on what type of shipment it is, air or land. So they could be purple and orange (most likely), purple and green, or purple and sky blue.

The city of Memphis isn't a professional basketball town. They can sellout a college game for the University of Memphis, but not many people like the NBA. Probably more people in Memphis hate it than like it. I remember there was a whole campaign against getting the Grizzlies when they were comming to town. It's sad, but when teams like the Lakers come to town, they sellout.

They are also one of the most exciting teams in the NBA, with their fastbreaks and all. I am a huge Kidd fan, so every year when New Jersey comes today I blow most of my cash on backstage passes and frontrow seats, because Jason Kidd is the coolest man alive! [IMG]

the main problem in nj is that apparently the arena is really hard to get to from ny, like huge traffic lines, etc. also when u are in the shadow of ny, no matter what u do u'll seem like 2nd best for a long time, unless the nets get to like 10 finals in a row itll seem like theyre 2nd best to ny. if they get a new arena in a great spot im sure their attendance will greatly increase. but some areas like memphis, most of canada, other nba spots just arent as good for getting big crowds at nba games than others.

You don't have to drive through NY to get to the arena from Jersey...at least I don't..we took the GS Parkway and made it without goin through NY plus NY is like 30 minutes from the arena so it's not that hard to get to...

BTW - I loved those Raptors jerseys, but I forget the Rocket's jersey's that they had between the red/yellow one and the ones now. Could someone post a link to a pic?

I like the Rockets jerseys, and I like the memphis away jersey they have now (black with red trim).

Why is Memphis so overocuppied with FedEx, I know it's the national headquarters and half the people work there, but that doesn't mean that the colors should be like the FedEx colors. You don't see the Sixers wearing green and white (Wachovia Financial colors).

I also don't like the idea of the Grizlies moving away from the Pyramid, I loved that areana, well the outside of it at least.

A new arena I can understand, but why mess with the unis? I think the new ones are pretty tight. The only NBA jersey that was ever as bad as the Raps original or the Rockets were the first Vancouver Grizz jerseys. Talk about ugly : [IMG] here's a link to those ugly Rockets unis: I wish my memory would let me forget about those: http://a1708.g.akamai.net/7/1708/110/10717...BREPJER-065.jpg

Purple and Orange would make them look like the Suns, but their current unis aren't that bad at all. They're unique.

Plus, besides purple, there's gonna be a lotta orange soon. The Suns, Heat, Knicks and Bobcats will already have it, and soon its gonna be overused.

"Backstage passes" at NBA games? Is this something exclusive to the Grizzlies? I'm a Heat season ticket holder and have never heard of such a thing before.
