I'm kinda surprised he went to you guys. I never heard him rumored there once. I feel bad for him that he has to be a third string QB. I would have thought he could have found a back up job. Though he didn't play with us he did look solid every year in preseason and I was always confident he would be ready to play should time come. I think you guys made a good move cus you can never have to many capable QB's on your roster.

Very interesting. What a long strange road its been for Marino's successor as designated by the man himself.

He could sure do worse than having Marino's endorsement. I hadn't heard rumors either. I knew we lost our 3rd stringer (Jonathan Quinn) to the Bears. I guess Shea wanted someone who was comfortable in the system to help teach it to the team.

We brought in Casey Clausen (undrafted) from Tennessee and I hope he catches on, but I guess the talking heads at 1 Arrowhead Drive felt like we needed more veteran stability there. I don't know how much more stable it gets, as Todd Collins has been there since the early Grbac years. Maybe they will relegate Casey to NFL Europe for at least a year to give him a shot. I can't really see us carrying 4 QBs on the regular season roster.

Damon Huard is a good QB. He does what he needs to do very well and doesn't put his team in a bad place because he was trying to do something beyond his game. People forget that Damon helped the Dolphins win a bunch of games when Marino was injured several years ago. His play was much better than any backup we've had since. The Chiefs would do well to find a place for him.

ya Huard was 5-1 that season as a starter I believe. He could be a surprise success should he be lucky enough to get a Job due to injury because he was good before we had him and now though he didn't play he has seen how a championship attiude and team works and though he is younger I'm sure brady showed him a thing or two about Patience and reading defenses.
